The UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor from Dell is a flat-panel monitor with factory-set color calibration, flexible connectivity, and HD-quality performance. The display features VGA, DisplayPort, DVI, HMDI, Component Video, and Composite Video connections, so that you can connect your computer, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and more. This monitor's 1920 X 1200 native resolution is great for HD video playback, plus its 16:10 aspect ratio offers sweet wide screen viewing. In addition, its factory color-calibration means that you can view vivid, true-to-life colors with a minimal need for tweaking. If you do want to make tweaks, there are simple easy to use capacitive touch switches on the side of the display.
The IPS display delivers a wide 178°/178° viewing angle, support for 1.07 billion colors, a 1000:1 typical contrast ratio, 400cd/m² brightness, and a 6ms response time. HDCP copy protection is supported via DVI-D and allows you to watch content on the display from a Blu-ray player or from a Blu-ray optical drive on your computer. A media card reader is included for viewing content from a flash memory card, and four USB 2.0 ports are also included in case you want to connect peripherals, such as a keyboard, mouse, or thumb drive. All told, this monitor is ideal for professional graphics work and for at-home video or gaming entertainment.

I have been using a NEC Multi-Sync monitor for years. Recently it has been acting up, so it was time for a replacement. I really wanted to replace it with another NEC, but decided on this one because it is a tremendous value and reviews that I have read indicated it was an excellent monitor, and it is an IPS display. I have not been disappointed. The screen is crisp and clear. and the colors are outstanding. I do a little bit of everything on my computer, but my primary usage is photo editing with CS5 and Lightroom 3. This monitor has worked out perfectly.

OK, now that it's set up it almost perfect. The screen is wonderful, the images sharp as can be, the colors excellent (I profiled it using my ColorMunki, which worked just fine). HOWEVER, the set-up was TERRIBLE. Now, it may well be that the CD is not necessary, that it's indeed plug and play. But since there is a CD, the natural thing to do is insert it and wait for automatic install. That did not happen, so I looked for Install.exe (duh). There was none. PLUS, there was no User's Manual supplied with this monitor, so I was lost from the beginning. With much fiddling the screen finally lit up ... but you can hear the frustration here. After using it for a while I decided to do the vertical screen flip. Great, but now the mouse wouldn't work. There was a tip that I should go to Dell's website and download a newer driver to make use of the vertical screen utility. But Dell would not give me a download without a service number, and I don't have a service number. Dell has made a truly wonderful monitor darned near impossible to love. Shame on them.

After days of research I decided to try the Dell Ultrasharp and I could not be happier. I use this monitor for my photography business. I am still setting up and adding to the computer that this wonderfull monitor will be used for. I have looked at a great amount of my photographs and they look a bunch better. As far as my intentions I will be using it for photo touch up but as for now, I am still setting up my new PC with photography programing. still it's a great monitor.

Comments about Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor:
The main reason I bought his monitor was for editing photos in Photoshop. I am very happy with it - the size and color are amazing. The internet is filled with super nerdy reviews of all the technical stats and info and Google will be your best friend if that's what you want - but after some research it seemed this was the best monitor in its price-range.

Most important: use the DataPort cable not the DVI cable. When I calibrated this monitor using my spyder, the increase in the monitor's color space vs. RGB color space was remarkable for the DataPort cable when compared to the DVI cable. I needed to turn the brightness down from 50 to 2.

Unless you want to spend upwards of a $1000 I don't think you can get any better quality. Controls are easy to follow and use. When calibrated the color is wonderfull. Reviews say that IPS displays in general don't have high contrast but it's high enough. Even uncalibrated I could see the correct difference in the last grey and black on the grey scale. I do strictly still image photography so I can't speak for video editing but for me this is perfect.

Purchased for photo editing - several hours a day.
Size is better than normal 24" monitors (16:9) that are 1080. This monitor is 24", but 16:10 at 1220.
Easy to connect via display port and it came color calibrated from the "factory." I would not hesitate to buy another Dell U2410.

I purchased a pair of these so I could retire my old LaCie 20" panels for Email and Internet use. The color is vibrant, requiring almost no calibration when setting up custom profiles.
If I had one complaint it would be that the base is relatively large (only causes an issue because of my drawing tablet that requires desk space.

Comments about Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor:
I bought this monitor based on the numerous recommendations from photo magazines and friends, and its high ratings from B&H customers. I use it not only for serious editing with Photoshop, but I also use it as my main monitor. It's color and detail are the best I've ever seen in a monitor in its price range.

Comments about Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor:
I recently upgraded one of my old 17" monitors, and the added screen real estate has added tremendous value to my efficiency as a photographer and video editor. I haven't noticed any tinting issues, but depending on your viewing distance the whites do look slightly "dirty" as others have said due to the anti-glare coating. It hasn't bothered me at all. The height, pan, and tilt adjustments are easy to make and offer a wide range of solutions for viewing. Initially the height adjustment was stubborn, and I felt like I was going to break it. But once it loosened up it slides nicely. Color calibration out of the box looks pretty accurate, and was very illuminating of the color inaccuracy of my previous monitor. I intend to calibrate it with a Color Munki to see if any improvements can be made. Highly Recommended!

Very happy with this so far. I use it as a display for my laptop in my office. Very bright and clear, ergonomically adaptable, lots of connectivity. HDMI cable not include for some reason despite inclusion of all other cable types.

Comments about Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor:
I bought this monitor for editing photos. The color is superb. I calibrated it with a Syder 4 Pro. It appears the backlight is evenly distributed with no dead or hot pixels. I like the non-glare finish on both the frame and the screen. It was easy to set up. Settings were a bit bright out of the box, but was easy to turn down a bit. Was even better after calibration.
I feel this is the best monitor for the price. I am very happy with my purchace.

I just received my Dell UltraSharp and so far I am loving it. It makes such a huge difference when editing photos. I am using it with my laptop and it was fast and easy to get it up and running. So far I haven't noticed any glaring defects. For the price point I don't think you can go wrong.

We owned the older version of this Monitor and this has proved to be as good if not better than the Dell 2407. The price is right, and the quality is exceptional.
This one was bought for my son to use editing his wedding photography. I'll buy another when time to replace 2407 that I own.

Comments about Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor:
This is a great 1920x1200 resolution monitor for photo editing. It offers Adobe RGB and sRGB presets. I use the sRGB mode because the Adobe RGB is too vivid for my tastes. The default of Fill mode stretches the picture and doesn't look good so I recommend using the Aspect mode. The only problem with aspect mode is you will loose 1 inch of the screen on the top and bottom. I compared this monitor to others that cost double the price and yet offer the same features. I liked this monitor so much that I bought 2 of them through B&H (who has the best price on Earth).

I use this screen for photo & video editing, and map making at work. The screen is bright and the display is extremely sharp. I have a Dell ultrasharp at home, which I love, and that's what led me to get this screen for work. On the not-so-great side, the rectangular black stand isn't very aesthetically pleasing, and I wish the vertical adjustment had a couple of inches more travel, but neither of these points make me regret getting this screen.
A definite thumbs up!
