The 3G / 4G Mobile Broadband Adapter & Wimax Integrated Modem Enclosure from CradlePoint is a combination of a CBA750 3G /4G Mobile Broadband Adapter that can be used with the MC100W. The MC100W is an inactivated WiMAX modem that you need to activate with Clearwire, Verizon or Sprint. The CBA750 3G /4G Mobile Broadband Adapter is used for Ethernet to Mobile Broadband, Mobile Broadband to Ethernet and MC100W is the WiMAX Edition.
The CradlePoint CBA750 3G / 4G Mobile Broadband Adapter provides IP Pass-Through capabilities for any device that requires wireless broadband access. For most applications, simply connect the CBA750, turn the unit on, and it's ready to go. Quick to install, the CBA750 handles the connection without configuration and provides enhanced network connectivity with support for USB and Express-Card modems running on 3G / 4G Networks. The CBA750 supports Power-Over-Ethernet to facilitate remote installation where power may not be easily available. Adding a wireless backup or even a primary connection has never been easier.
The MC100W Wimax Integrated Modem Enclosure from CradlePoint enables high speed wireless Internet access that meets and often exceeds the throughput from wired Internet connections such as DSL, Cable, or even T1 lines In combination with supported CradlePoint routers and adapters. The MC100W Integrated Modem Enclosure provides businesses with a fully integrated solution for 4G/WiMAX Internet access. Supporting both a primary connection and network failover applications, the MC100W features an integrated WiMAX module and high gain external antennas to enhance in-building signal coverage and improve performance in fringe locations and areas of poor coverage.
The integrated WiMAX module provides downlink throughput of 10 Mbps peak with an average of 6 Mbps, and uplink throughput of 5 Mbps peak with an average of 1.2 Mbps in typical WiMAX networks. The MC100W is designed to be securely attached to compatible CradlePoint routers to create an embedded solution. Unlike standard USB or ExpressCard modem sticks, the internal WiMAX module cannot be used in laptops or personal computers. As a result, the modem is not a theft target for unauthorized uses. As carriers begin to offer custom M2M metered data plans, this solution enables carriers and customers to utilize those data plans in remote, lights out locations without fear of unauthorized usage or data plan abuse. The MC100W's rigorous system validation testing ensures that the solution will provide durable connectivity and the best performance results possible for in-building locations, fringe locations and other areas of low signal strength.

- As a high-performance adapter, the CBA750 supports multiple and concurrent application streams for the attached device, converting Ethernet to mobile broadband and mobile broadband to Ethernet. This flexible connectivity solution is platform independent, features two operating modes (configuration and IP pass-through) and has an "always-on" signal strength meter to determine the best mobile broadband reception for optimum placement. The CradlePoint CBA750 3G / 4G Mobile Broadband Adapter can be used in three main ways:
• As a Primary Connection in "remote, lights-out" devices like kiosks, ATMs, digital signage and point of sale devices
• As a Failover Connection for network equipment that supports redundant WANs
• As an Antenna Remote; this allows you to get the best 3G / 4G signal available by placing the CBA750 in the best location for receiving the signal. This flexibility, along with Power-over-Ethernet, lets you take advantage of existing CAT 5 cabling within a building to bring the Internet connection to your equipment room
