I use this product for displaying pictures taken from my Cannon 5D Mk. II.
I found it very useful to use the GT as presentation tool instead of getting a hard-copy of the picture. It allows viewing the pictures directly from the camera. If I select to import the pictures it is being done very quickly.
In order to connect it to the camera I also bought the USB plugin (Model: EPL-1PL0BEGXAR)
I thought buying the iPad2, but after I searched the web for product comparison and did some research on few local computer stores I realized that the Galaxy Tab is better on most of the parameters than the iPad2.
(p.s. I bought it before the iPad3 was announced and released to market).
The GT came with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and according to Samsung it is ICS4 ready. Video conference calls using Skype are being done fluently without any lags or delays.
This is my first Android-based product. The apple iOS is much more mature and polished OS than the android, but don't let it impact your decision - both OS are very friendly and easy to use.

I had a friend in the US visiting from Holland and he was interested in this particular tablet. I ordered it on B&H because of the price and no shipping charges. The tablet arrived just a few business days later in time for my friend's arrival and he had a week here in the US to test it out before he left. By the time he left, he had it accessorized and set up exactly the way he wanted it and he could not stop talking about how much he loved it. I have heard from him a couple of times since he has returned to Holland and he is still talking about how much he loves his new tablet.

Very functional, great tools. It most definitely doesn't replace a laptop, but it goes a long way. Android is a great OS (although I can't help but wonder how much Google knows about me.) Voice mode is fantastic. The Tab itself is clear/bright, responsive, with great battery life. Haven't really used it in sunlight, but I suspect it will be fairly visible. For the price, it is at least as good as any apple.

The camera on this tablet is amazing for stills or video. Simple to use right out-of-the-box without even reading the manual. We use this product for travel as a camera and to keep in touch via Skype and email with folks back home. Read all sorts of reviews on both the galaxy tablet and the IPad. Both machines are great products, but I am well pleased with the Galaxy after using a friend's Ipad.

Just received my GT 10.1. Went to android market downloaded moboplayer and attempted play mkv and it recommends download codec, connected, downloaded and 1 minute later was playing avi(xvid), flv, mkv, mp4(.264) videos. Put moboplayer settings on software decoding(lots smoother) and rotate video and u are good to go. Plus Samsung has usb/sd card adapter for about $20 and you can play from a 32gb FAT32 formatted thumb drive or sd card. Love it. C U later ipad. Wish Samsung would fix it so it is recognized for usb tethering on android phones. Not sure about anything larger than 32gb FAT32 cause I'm pretty sure it won't recognize it unless it appears on your PC as a removable storage device. Something to experiment with though to see if will work. Check out the comic book readers on the android market, cause if you like to read comics they look good on the Tab without having to change format(cbz and cbr good to go).

I bought this tablet for several reasons: book reading, browse the web, chat, blog reading, watch movies... And I very satisfied with it: responds very well; suitable size although somewhat heavy; the camera works fine; the sound is not great but acceptable; GPS not still tested; wifi works excellent; and the apps works really well. However, there are two drawbacks, not serious, but some annoying: first, the android version installed in this device (Honeycomb), has poor graphic performance and I hope Samsung updates it to Ice Cream Sandwich that is optimized for tablets. Second, the duration of battery charge is very good but at price to take long time to full charge. It is recommended always use USB charger included, because charging through PC's USB takes so long time. These drawbacks aren't serious for me, and hence I give it 5 stars

I use the product for general use, web browsing, movies and taking notes in class mainly. I didn't get a keyboard for it and I find it easy to take class notes on the screen. It is absolutely fabulous, the screen has amazing clarity for movies, it is fast and easy to use. I really love the camera function and I use the video for skype, the quality of which is far better than my computer. The sound is good for a product of this type. The microphone is really sensitive so it is great for skype. I got Samsung headphones with the tablet and the quality of them is excellent.
The screen does become very easily covered in fingerprints but I don't see a way around that and it does take a few hours to charge fully.

This product is great. It gives me the portability of a netbook. I used to own a netbook and only used it a few times in the last year as it took quite a bit of time to boot up, and was limited in the programs that it could use. This tablet is fast, and boots up in no time. The availability of the apps in the Android market makes this tablet am amazing integral part of keeping in touch with everyone with all of the social networking apps as well as performing just like a computer with Quickoffice PRO. I'm impressed with it 100%!
