Great for handling all of your business or multimedia entertainment needs while traveling, the X460DX-008US 14" Notebook Computer from MSI weighs no greater than 4.3 pounds and is no thicker than an inch. The system features a 14" display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and an aspect ratio of 16:9, making it perfect for High Definition entertainment. The display also utilizes LED-backlighting so as to remain energy efficient. Graphics are provided by a dedicated nVIDIA GeForce GT540M GPU with 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The computer is powered by a quad-core 2.1GHz Intel Core i3-2310M CPU. The notebook is also loaded with 4GB of RAM and features a 500GB hard drive that spins at the fast disk speed of 7200rpm.
In terms of connecting to the Internet, the notebook supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and has a Gigabit Ethernet port. In terms of connecting external devices, this notebook features two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. It also includes HDMI and VGA ports, if you want to connect an external display. With the HDMI port, you can watch HD movies on a bigger screen. For transferring files from your camcorder or camera, there is a built-in card reader that supports SDXC and MMC memory cards.
The system sports a chassis with a brushed metal texture. For navigating through programs, the Internet, or whatever else, this notebook features a keyboard with chiclet-styled keys and a touch pad for mousing. It also features the MSI-S bar that appears on your screen and allows you to conveniently one-click on your favorite programs. For multimedia fun, there are four integrated speakers as well as a CD/DVD burner. For chatting or conferencing over the Internet, a 1.3MP webcam and microphone are integrated into the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

This is an ok product. The only thing not going for this laptop is the fact that it has an i3 processor. And, also the USB 3.0 wouldn't be as fast as it would be at the first few uses.

I bought this as a replacement after other computer had motherboard problems. I use my computer 5-8 hours a day for taking notes in law school, and use it recreationally for some gaming and watching netflix or amazon videos.
The keyboard is very comfortable to use with an intuitive layout, and battery life if commendable. I watched 5 episodes of a show and still had over a half hour a battery life left. The GPU allows decent gaming, I have run Mass Effect 2 with high settings without and framerate slowdowns. The GPU does get fairly warm, but not excessively.
Everyday use is fast and trouble free. i was initially concerned about the Core i3, but it has performed great. Granted I am not doing video encoding or other processor intensive tasks. Multitasking (OneNote, Word, iTunes, Chrome with ~6 tabs) is not an issue.
The only thing I have not been happy with was the initial partitioning of the harddrive, which was very odd (C: was 280ish and D: was 180ish, but a free partitioning tool fixed this in about 10 minutes)
It is very thin and sleek, and actually does fairly well at avoiding fingerprints. It looks great and performs excellently. Good buy.
