The WorkForce Pro WP-4540 All-in-One Printer from Epson offers fast print speeds of 16 ppm in black and 11 ppm in color. In addition to automatic duplex printing, the printer's 30-page ADF allows you to scan, fax, and copy stacks of two-sided originals in one easy step. The printer's large ink cartridges not only reduce the cost per page but also, together with the large paper trays, allow you to print larger jobs uninterrupted. The scanner can handle two-sided multipage documents (as large as 8.5 x 14.0") via the 30-page ADF. OCR software is included with the printer so you can convert scanned documents into editable text.
The WP-4540 features multiple connectivity options that make it easy to print from anywhere. Besides a standard USB connection, the printer has both Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connectivity for easy printer sharing over a wired or wireless network. The printer also supports Email Print (print by emailing an attachment to your printer's dedicated email address), Google CloudPrint as well as an app for printing from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

After struggling with an older Epson workforce 600 and being unable to get it to work with my newly upgraded apple iMac, I searched for a Lion-compatible printer. I searched for information on-line, and at Apple's and Epson's websites. Those same websites indicated that Lion would "work" with my Epson 600 (it didn't) so I was skeptical. I went to the Genius Bar, I searched on-line magazines, and read all the user reviews I could find. Ultimately it was a jump into the dark
The WP4540 connected into my apple airport extreme router using WPA2 security (this was the issue with my old Epson Work-no-more 600) very quickly (once I paid attention to the admonishment to be sure that the security, which is case sensitive, was correct) and started printing like gangbusters.
The printer is really big, but the ink is really cheap and its really fast. My fiance' was able to utilize the Epson scanning and faxing software on her PC based laptop which worked (for HER) really well. The scan and fax technology is way more problematic for Lion. I haven't been willing to give it the time to get up and running, if possible.

Anyone looking to save money on ink and have all your computers/I Pad all running off one machine this is the one. To use the wi fi I had to call tech support to help me. It's not clear in the set-up but you have to download the drivers for Wi Fi from there web page.Takes a long time but once up and ruining it's worth it
