The Fujifilm FinePix F600EXR Digital Camera is a point-and-shoot that goes beyond the name. In addition to snap shots, the F600EXR has the capability to capture high def video, provide GPS functionality, and put a number a number of creative options at your fingertips. Of course, the basics, like a 16Mp sensor aren't bad either.
The F600EXR uses its 16Mp EXR CMOS image sensor to capture stills and HD video up to 1080p. The built-in Fujinon 15x Optical Zoom Lens (24mm wide-angle), a 3.0" LCD, and a built-in flash are the external components that help you to take those images. Inside, features like image stabilization, Fuji's "Real Photo Technology", face detection, and EXR AUTO all help to you capture the perfect shot without having to get a photo degree.
Advanced functions help the camera go beyond just recording photos and videos. With the built-in GPS you can record where you shot your picture or video and call up images based on location. GPS also allows for geotagging. The Landmark Navigator feature gives you a hand-held tour guide. The Navigator shows you the direction and distance to nearby landmarks and other points of interest with icons overlaid on the LCD. When you shift direction new landmark icons will appear, giving you the potential to make even more great photos from your journey.
When it comes to the various creative options the F600EXR has the following: Motion Panorama 360, Super Intelligent Flash, Pro Focus with Face Detection, Film Simulation Mode, and others. Give your photos a distinctive look and feel, get the best focus on the faces of your subjects, make your images shot with flash reflect the actual scene better... the possibilities are endless - and up to you! Tell the camera to do and enjoy the results.
Portrait and Motion x Greenery x HR When you choose Portrait and Motion mode, it detects and focuses on subject in motion and optimizes brightness at the same time. The EXR sensor with 16 megapixel High Resolution mode depicts every finest detail of the scene from texture of hair to the vivid green grass in the back of the subject
Back Lighting x Sunset x DR Delivers the best results of the sunset as it intelligently recognizes the scene emphasizing the vividness of the colors and the depth of the scene with the EXR sensor mode automatically switched to Dynamic Range to capture the high contrast involved in the scene
Clear HD Movies Even in Low Lighting The FinePix F600EXR maximizes high sensitivity to capture exceptionally crisp and colorful full HD video (1080p; 30fps/High Profile) with impressive stereo sound, even in low-light conditions. AF will instantly capture the object, and even allow 15x zoom ups during your recordings
H.264 High Profile EXR realizes H.264 format incorporating both high quality image and small data size

EXR Processor Harnessing the high-speed performance of the BSI EXR CMOS sensor, the Dual CPU, EXR Core and Reconfigurable Processor power a host of functions including high-sensitivity HD movies and continuous shooting as well as expanded scene recognition and Pro Modes while the new Vector Graphics Accelerator drives the enhanced image quality of the rich GUI
From Zoom to Super-Wide Angle, Full Range of Shooting is Available: Conventional digital zoom basically only resizes the optical image data, often resulting in lack of definition, but the new Intelligent Digital Zoom uses the speed and power of the EXR Processor to intelligently sharpen image edges so you can enjoy images with natural clarity and crispness of detail across the digital zoom range
High-Precision Molded Glass Aspheric Lens: By precisely focusing light at the same point on the focal plane, aspheric lens design eliminates the need for additional corrective lens elements. While this lens reduces distortion at wide angles, improves resolution in both center and edge areas, cuts glare and reflections, and minimizes chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range, the lens also makes possible a lighter and more compact design
Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Glass Lens: Dramatically minimizing chromatic aberration which frequently occurs in conventional super telephoto lenses, the high-quality ED glass lens delivers superior sharpness and color fidelity
High Speed Continuous Shooting: Capture action at almost 8fps at full 16 megapixel resolution (max. 8 frames) or shoot at 11fps at 4 megapixel resolution (max. 32 frames)
High Speed Movie: Sometimes things happen too fast for you to see them properly with your own eyes. The FinePix F600EXR can freeze the action at up to an amazing 320fps! So you can see every single minute detail and watch things happening step by step in slow motion

I purchased this camera this past Christmas for my wife, to replace an old digital Canon that finally quit. I decided on this specific FujiFilm model based on its specs and the many glowing reviews. Now that we been using it for awhile I am somewhat disappointed. It takes great pictures, most of the time. Many people have commented about the great autofocusing but my experience differs a bit. Many shots are out of focus enough to be noticable. I often icrease the shutter speed, thinking perhaps that was the problem, and even used the image stabilazation. But, again, many shot are still just a tad out of focus. The features are great, but my wife finds it cumbersome when many settings are buried under menus. I don't mind that, but she hands me the camera to change a setting. My biggest gripe is the shutter lag time. To me, being used to an SLR, I find the latency maddenly slow. You press the shutter and then wait... finally the shutter fires. That does not work well when trying to take a photo of a moving object. I tried panning, but when you press the shutter the image freezes on the display and that is not always the image that gets captured.
Needless to say I wish I had gotten another Canon instead. In all honesty, the old 5 megapixel Canon worked better for me. Not as fancy, but certainly no maddening shutter lag. If I had the chance to test the camera before I decided to purchase it I would not have.

Easy to use, great pictures and fits in my purse. I just took it on vacation and every picture came out great. Compared to my last camera that took great shots, this camera blew it out of the water. Zoom is good but pictures not as clear when fully extended.

I've bought it for my girlfriend as a replacement of Sony Cyber Shot. It supposed to be something relevantly small with good zoom and MP not less than 15. So taking into account price vs. quality ratio this item was chosen.

I bought this camera esepcially to use in low-light situations-knowing that it would be tough to find one that made me happy. This does. In addition to the low-light ability, the zoom is fantastic.
I have posted several pictures for friends to see, and all of them love the quality of the photos. I would recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in learning about shutter speed, aperture, and other manual controls.

The Fuji FinePix F600EXR is so easy to operate. You can just set it on the EXR function and the camera will make all the decisions for you. It is also full of special settings to help you take the perfect photo. For example there is are options for snow, fireworks, pets, etc, as well as shooting photos at night,at night with a tripod, as well as all the manual settings if you are a pro. It's lightweight, compact but feels very sturdy. The only complaint is the complete operating manual that goes into detail about all the camera features has to be downloaded from the website.

Comments about Fujifilm FinePix F600EXR Digital Camera (Black):
My first impression is that it is well built and solid which is important to me. It is small but the rubberized coating, or whatever it is, keeps it in your hands. It feels substantial and not disposable like so many P and S cameras. The door for the battery/SD card is brilliant. It is fairly intuitive and will satisfy both those who like a lot of options and control or others who just want to point and shoot. I was really impressed with it's low light capabilities. I am not overly impressed with the picture quality but I am not disappointed either. Of course I wished it had a viewfinder but you can't fault a camera for not having one. It would be like down grading a car because it wasn't a convertible: You know what you are getting. I didn't consider the F550 because I heard negative things about the GPS but glad to say the GPS on the 600 is fast and accurate. I timed it once and received a signal in about 30 seconds. Leaving it on does kill a battery fast however but fortunately it has the option to turn on and off with the camera. The reality is you still aren't going to wait for a signal to take a picture no matter how short the wait. Fortunately you can copy GPS data from one photo to the next which works for me. Another reason I chose this over other GPS cameras was because spare batteries are a lot more reasonable compared to other brands. The instructions aren't great and you have to fill in the gaps by playing around with the camera but I got through them in a day which is pretty good when compared to my Casio FH100 which I never ended up finishing due to being lengthy and complicated. I mostly bought this for bike touring and it will do well in my handlebar bag and for later uploading pictures to Flickr.
