Apex Low Profile Bean Bag (Black)

The Apex Low Profile Bean Bag (Black) is a versatile, solid support for a camera, especially one mounted on a gimbal or ball head. This low-profile version of Apex's larger bean bags is designed for cars with smaller windows – it's an inch shorter than the Mini Bean Bag and a full 4" shorter than the standard Bean Bag. Providing a stable platform for attaching your ballhead or gimbal head, you can track, pan, and focus, smoothly and with ease.

Designed for DSLR cameras with lenses as long as 800mm, the Low Profile Bean Bag has a U-shape that makes it perfect for mounting on any narrow or round surface, such as a fence, a car door, or a tree branch. Inside the "U" is a high-tack surface that keeps it from slipping.

The Low Profile Bean Bag features an easily accessible fill zipper that allows you to customize the amount of filling that's inside the bag. A weather-resistant flap protects the zipper.

Inside the bag there's not only filling but an aircraft-grade aluminum plate that, with its 1/2"-long 3/8"-16 screw, supports the attachment of a head. (Each plate is hand-made in the U.S. with the help of a 100,000 lb press.) The plate is removable, so you can use the Low Profile Bean Bag as a traditional, soft bean bag support.

You can also invert the Low Profile Bean Bag to nestle a telephoto lens into the "U" portion, which is covered with a high-tack material to provide non-slip support. This is perfect for shooting from a flat surface such as a car hood or the ground.
