Apex Low Profile Bean Bag (Realtree Max4)
The Apex Low Profile Bean Bag (Realtree Max4) is a versatile, solid support for a camera, especially one mounted on a gimbal or ball head. This low-profile version of Apex's larger bean bags is designed for cars with smaller windows – it's an inch shorter than the Mini Bean Bag and a full 4" shorter than the standard Bean Bag. Providing a stable platform for attaching your ballhead or gimbal head, you can track, pan, and focus, smoothly and with ease.
Designed for DSLR cameras with lenses as long as 800mm, the Low Profile Bean Bag has a U-shape that makes it perfect for mounting on any narrow or round surface, such as a fence, a car door, or a tree branch. Inside the "U" is a high-tack surface that keeps it from slipping.
The Low Profile Bean Bag features an easily accessible fill zipper that allows you to customize the amount of filling that's inside the bag. A weather-resistant flap protects the zipper.
Inside the bag there's not only filling but an aircraft-grade aluminum plate that, with its 1/2"-long 3/8"-16 screw, supports the attachment of a head. (Each plate is hand-made in the U.S. with the help of a 100,000 lb press.) The plate is removable, so you can use the Low Profile Bean Bag as a traditional, soft bean bag support.
You can also invert the Low Profile Bean Bag to nestle a telephoto lens into the "U" portion, which is covered with a high-tack material to provide non-slip support. This is perfect for shooting from a flat surface such as a car hood or the ground.

only down fall is try to find bean bag filler in BC Canada. had to order from USA.It may save shipping but would me nice to have it come with filler light weight for traveling.sure it will do the job very nicely.

I bought this unit so I could add a gimbal head and shoot eagles from my car. In the past if you stepped out they would fly off. Trying to shoot from car I had to hold it. With my new setup I've taken all thearm stain off my arms and have got several great shots. I would recommend this to anyone trying to use a larger lens.
