I particularly like the date/time stamp so I can identify when the photo was taken. The camera is small enough to fit in a pocket so you can take it everywhere with you.

I was excited to receive this camera. The darned pop-up flash is in the exact spot where I hold the camera with my left hand. Tried to modify how I hold the camera, but still had the flash pop up and hit my fingers. In frustration, I returned the camera the next day.

Read some great stuff about the Nikon Coolpix S8200 and I am please to say that I agree. Photos look great and the video recording is also quite awesome. I own a Nikon D40 and D300. I am an amateur photographer and specialize in art photography. I recently had to travel and was required to pack VERY light (as in a backpack only). I purchased this camera after doing a good bit of research. The camera got excellent reviews, but after using DSLR technology for several years, I did not have high hopes. Boy was I wrong! This camera did it all - action, stills, portrait. It is incredible in low light! It even has some really fun special effects. I now take this camera with me everywhere. It is small and light and I can throw it in my handbag. While I won't give up my DSRL cameras, this point and shoot will become part of my photo equipment for sure! I HIGHLY recommend the Coolpix S8200!

We bought this camera for our honeymoon (and future family photos =)). We wanted something compact with good zoom and this was just that. We also were looking for something with a fast "picture taking speed." My previous camera would take pictures a second or two after I pressed the shutter button. This camera did not have that problem. The screen is bright and clear and did not scratch easily, so far. Battery life was good also: first cycle lasted several days with moderate use.

This camera is a perfect size for carrying but Nikon has managed to cram a stack of USEFUL features into the neat package. The menus are easy to access and understand, the choices are probably more than most casual users need and the picture quality is astonishing. The video is literally one-touch for start and finish and, again, the quality is great. I love this camera.

i purchased the nikon 8200 point and shoot i could tell everyone , it is the most succeseful camera truly , that i have purchased thus far , the resolution incredile and the batterylife very very gracious in her duration in her time-length ,in fact i have shown one of the photos captured with it , to a photographer and he said it is of a slr of some kind . so good is the pic quality of thisw camera and the speed as well pretty remarkable , so all in all a great camera love it i really do

I use Nikon 300 etc. and needed a family camera that takes good pictures and is easy for all to use. This little camera was put through its paces. Clean, clear pictures. Setup is very easy. Best ponit and shoot I have used recently. Quick focus and shutter response. Low light is good and flash exposures are spot on. Light weight, fits in shirt pocket, takes great pictures, what more does one want? Oh, video is just as good as stills.

The other posts to this site about pro's and cons are correct like the goofy flash position and the having to turn the camera off to have it go down are simply differences anyone can get used to. Therefore, I like this camera but I would like to note that not having a view finder is a huge detriment when shooting outside. Not being able to see the screen when in the sunlight is difficult to see framing, zooming and colors. Indoors or when you can see the screen, this camera takes great pictures and is very easy to use. Awesome value and compact.

Bought this camera for our upcoming trip to Rivera-Cancun Mexico. We have been testing the camera on family gatherings.The Smile detection timer setting can be fun to use by placing the camera where people will be and letting the camera take random photos automatically.Con- There are 2 cons I have with this camera is the Flash. 1.If you use 2 hands to take the shot your left index finger will most likely stop it from popping up.2. Once flash is up you can not manualy close the flash. You will need to power down the camera to recess the flash.

Will use this camera on a Med cruise this coming summer. I like that it also does video in 1080p. The mic on the camera is my least favorite thing. Also the flash is in a weird spot. You have to remember were it is when shooting.

I was looking for a long zoom with HD video and this fits the bill. Great low light pictures and many other apps. Very fast shooting and flash. This replaces my Sony DHC-H50 that l love. I hope I will not miss the viewfinder too much, will see. Taking this to Italy, Greece and Turkey this summer.

I shot some pictures at "Thunder on the Bay" in Sarasota, Florida with my new Coolpix S8200. The camera performed very well in all light conditions. The pop up flash took a few shots to get my fingers in the right place and a little getting used to power off the camera in order for it to retract. This will not be a big deal. The battery charging only in the camera is not a problem for me as it charges in less than four hours. I was looking for a camera without GPS and I think I found just the perfect camera for me.

Ipurchased this camera to have as one to carry with me all the time. It's small enough to be put in a pocket and yet it has many excellant features. Really like the length of the zoom and the "panaroma" feature. One dislike is the way Nikon designed the flash to pop up right where the natural place is to hold the camera with your left hand. It also has to have the camera completly shut off in order for the flash to close. Also the battery has to charged in the body, no external charging method. Will certainly take some getting used to.All in all a great little camera.
