The Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Black) is a slick little camera that packs more lens than you'd expect from its compact frame. Featuring a 10x wide-angle zoom lens (25-250mm 35mm equivalent), the S6200 employs a 16 Mp CCD sensor to capture crisp, beautiful high-res images. The camera also lets you record 720p HD video with a single touch. View captured movies and images on the bright 2.7" LCD screen. Or using the HDMI mini connector, you can instantly play back from your S6200 to your compatible HDTV.
The S6200's Four-way Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization helps banish blurry pictures. Sensitivity up to 3200 ISO lets you keep shooting even when it gets dark. Subject Tracking Autofocus function lets you lock onto a moving subject to keep it in focus at all times. A Best Shot Selector mode quickly and automatically takes 10 shots in low light, and selects the sharpest image as a keeper.
The Smart Portrait System makes every person you photograph look good, by automatically capturing a smile, warning you when someone blinks in a picture, automatically correcting red-eye, and smoothing out wrinkles and blemishes on faces. A full set of in-camera effects gives your creativity free play as you adjust images for viewing during playback.
The S6200 offers 20 scene modes, including Pet Portrait, Night Landscape, Sports, Party/Indoor, Sunset, and lots more. Taking the guesswork out of the equation, a Scene Auto Selector chooses the optimal mode for your specific shooting conditions at any given moment. Encased in a slim, petite body, the S6200 packs a powerful punch for just about any shooting situation.

A replacement/upgrade for my Nikon S 570. A outstanding piece of photo equipment! I'm handicapped and the anti shake/vibration system really works!

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Black):
I routinely use two Nikon full size SLR bodies, however, there are times when the point and shoot makes more sense, for some regions of the world where I don't want to walk around with an SLR and when sticking it in small spaces for the work I do. The video mode is also pretty darn good. So, the 6200 is an add on camera but a work horse as well. I purchased this camera to replace a S700, I broke the screen, which worked very well for three years. It's slightly bigger. The 6200's controls are also slightly easier to use, more positive feeling and the button to activate the video camera is a welcomed addition. And, the 10x zoom is also a welcomed upgrade. The on off button is harder to activate, which is a good thing.
The battery is larger and lasts longer, a definite improvement.
The fact that it does not come with a proper charger is disappointing, you have to plug the camera in to charge the battery, which is silly, especially if you keep multiple batteries, and a clear cost saving measure on Nikon's part. I purchased an MH65 charger for $20. Also, the macro capabilities do not seem to be quite as good as the S700.
All up, however, it's a very nice little camera.
