The Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Red) is a slick little camera that packs more lens than you'd expect from its compact frame. Featuring a 10x wide-angle zoom lens (25-250mm 35mm equivalent), the S6200 employs a 16 Mp CCD sensor to capture crisp, beautiful high-res images. The camera also lets you record 720p HD video with a single touch. View captured movies and images on the bright 2.7" LCD screen. Or using the HDMI mini connector, you can instantly play back from your S6200 to your compatible HDTV.
The S6200's Four-way Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization helps banish blurry pictures. Sensitivity up to 3200 ISO lets you keep shooting even when it gets dark. Subject Tracking Autofocus function lets you lock onto a moving subject to keep it in focus at all times. A Best Shot Selector mode quickly and automatically takes 10 shots in low light, and selects the sharpest image as a keeper.
The Smart Portrait System makes every person you photograph look good, by automatically capturing a smile, warning you when someone blinks in a picture, automatically correcting red-eye, and smoothing out wrinkles and blemishes on faces. A full set of in-camera effects gives your creativity free play as you adjust images for viewing during playback.
The S6200 offers 20 scene modes, including Pet Portrait, Night Landscape, Sports, Party/Indoor, Sunset, and lots more. Taking the guesswork out of the equation, a Scene Auto Selector chooses the optimal mode for your specific shooting conditions at any given moment. Encased in a slim, petite body, the S6200 packs a powerful punch for just about any shooting situation.

In addition to my DSLR, I thought i'd like a little "snappy" to travel with. Am delighted
with my purchase. Nice handling, nice features,
nice images. Do miss the viewfinder, but
for the price, will have to adjust. The battery life is not as good as i had hoped, but I am advised that the little batteries for these little cameras need to be charged more than do the DSLRs. I bought it used, but am always comfortable buying used equipment from B&H. I just have to keep in mind that it's what it is: a small, convenient camera that takes really nice pictures.

This is the coolest little point ans shoot camera I've found. I bought one to give as a Christmas gift and was so impressed with it, I bought my own. It's fast respose and has easy to use icons that make sense rather than the icons used on Canon's which are confusing. I've been a working pro for 32 years and I love this camera. It has a big screen, bright image and great image quality. Its fun and sharp looking. Not for pro use but for me,its a gas to use it!
