I spent some time comparing monitors and after considering cost and value, this was the right choice for me. This monitor is a great choice for anyone in the market, from the average web-browser, to the movie watcher, to the Gamer. I bought this so I could watch movies withough squinting as well as play pc games and not stare at a gigantic screen. It is the perfect size for me. Very clean looking, and if you get it wall mounted, you have the perfect setup. I give it 5 stars.

I bought this monitor to replace a 22" Samsung. The Samsung monitor seemed to have better colors but this Asus Monitor is nice and bright and after a little bit of color calibration I had the picture looking sharp and crisp.

For the Price, this monitor really is a steal and I would probably buy again if I needed to add more monitors to my setup.

I don't know why it took me so long to upgrade from my 23" 8 year old Viewsonic LCD. Even though it's still running strong, when compared with the VS248H-P 24" LED side by side I can't even stand to look at my over the hill LDC. The color and clarity of this monitor is truly amazing and the only problem I have now is purchasing 2 more to run so I can run my Eyefinity setup!

TLDR - If you haven't upgraded monitors in a few years, do yourself a favor and bite on this power sipping gem.

My wife thought I was wasting our money getting a
new monitor as we have a 22" Chimei that she thought was great.
It has been a week now and she continues to rave about the bright vibrant colors, easy to read text and how it is easy on her eyes for extended usage.
She even commented that maybe we should get another, fingers crossed.

This is the first LED display >20" I've bought for myself (although I use one daily at work). I searched deeply before purchasing this display, comparing it to the typical big named brands that mainly only produce only monitors and everyone in-between. I have never owned any other brand motherboards but ASUS, so I trusted that ASUS would not let me down on this product line. And ya know what? The ASUS VS248H-P 24" LED Backlit Widescreen Display blows away any monitor I have ever owned or used. The picture quality is totally awesome for every application I've used it for or needed it for (i.e. normal imaging, gaming, movies, etc - everything). Somewhere you may find a monitor rated and/or better than this model. But for under $200 delivered, why bother looking any further? So as not to be biased, I guess that really depends on each of our individual needs. It's easy to imagine there are new consumer products that out perform the older comparable products they've replaced, such as flat panel monitors and TV's versus CRT monitors and TV's (the great thing about modern technology). But to actually get something with greater technology and quality and cost less, is truly a consumer bonus. There is nothing about this bad boy I don't like. It has all the inputs I wanted (or needed) and I don't use the factory included stand because I have it mounted on a monitor swing arm mount. Fortunately the 24" width is perfect for "my personal requirements" otherwise I would have needed to buy a new computer desk. By good fortune, this display fits so perfect mounted on my monitor swing arm mount that it actually looks as if I custom built my computer desk around the display. I never cared for speakers in a monitor, so in this case not having speakers for me is a plus (and also likely kept the production cost down), which is fine by my standards.
I would also like to give kudos to B&H. They not only had the best price I could find, but the display was double-boxed, it shipped it for free and to top it off, I order it on a Wednesday night around 6:30pm-ish EST and the UPS guy was handing me the box at my back door around 5:00pm-ish EST on Friday, less than 48 hours later! The only negative comment I can make is that I don't have the room to set up dual monitors, because if I did, I'd have 2 of these without wasting any time or thought. As you would expect from my review, I would highly recommend this display to others.

Got two for home use on my gaming rig. I enjoy watching HD movies, shows and playing games. Color and response are great, I can barely notice any ghosting. Very crisp picture, and a lot of screen real estate. The colors in games and just browsing in general were noticably more vivid than my previous monitor. Amazing price.

The stand is wobbly, which you'll notice if you type with a heavy finger. There is little adjustement in terms of angle, and no height or rotation adjustment, but of course this was known before the purchase so it is not a con. I plan to get a dual stand or mount them on the wall, so thesea are not problems for me.

A stickler might note some slight backlight bleeding. It's very faint (bleeds perhaps a centimeter from the edge of the screen) and only visible during very dark images. It would have taken me a while to notice if I did not know to look for it in the first place. Coming from my previous LCD whose backlight bled like it was a main feature, I am hardly bothered.

Overall, I am more than pleased with this model. The price:quality ratio is outstanding. I would recommend this monitor whole heartedly for anyone from the casual user to hardcore gamer.

I had been shopping for a new monitor for awhile. My previous monitor was a 19" HP model. I wanted something similar, but larger and had it narrowed down to a 23" Dell or HP. After searching around and reading several reviews, I was leaning toward a 23" Asus, which was a brand with which I was unfamiliar but most of the reviews were outstanding. I ended up on the B&H site and found this 24" for less than I was going to pay for a smaller monitor. I've had this monitor for about two weeks and absolutely love it. It fits on my desk perfectly, takes up minimal space and has a great screen. The size is perfect for viewing two documents side by side. I can easily work on websites, leave research material open on the other side, play games, watch movies or leave email open while working on something else. My kids use it for homework and projects and again, having the ability to have more than one window open is great. We use it in a very bright room and glare is no problem. Built in speakers would have been nice but I picked up a set while ordering the monitor. I was a bit unsure of the lack of movement with the base but it's sitting on top of a slimline computer so it's at perfect height anyway. I really can't say anything bad about this monitor. It fills my needs wonderfully!

I set this up for my wife's school computer and wow! The picture is fantastic and the 24" size works very well. Wouldn't want to go any smaller.

I purchased two of these displays to replace a single Samsung S24A350H that did not have wall mounting capability. They arrived in perfect condition, with no dead pixels, and even brightness across both display fields.

I've currently got them mounted side by side at eye level to the wall.

I'll be using them for everything from general computing tasks, such as writing, and programming, to graphic design work, and finally long sessions with the latest GPU busting games.

So far, I have absolutely no complaints. The colors are bright, the contrast is perfect (for me) right out of the box, and the adjustability is easy using the on-screen menus. Having come from the Samsung, I'm also exceedingly pleased with the presence of actual physical buttons for power and other menu options.

I have both monitors connected to a single older desktop replacement class laptop. Rather than purchase a splitter cable, I have one connected via DVI-D, and the other via VGA. The DVI-D monitor is much brighter and more crisp than the VGA monitor, but the VGA monitor is still sufficiently bright, readable, and responsive as to not be a problem while I build out a new enthusiast class desktop.

While I haven't noticed any ghosting while playing games (fast paced FPS is my genre of choice), I have noticed a slight bit on the windows desktop when moving elements of sufficiently different brightness over each other. I've read that setting Trace Free to 80 or less (defaults to 100) will alleviate this, but it's not been enough of a concern to me.

In short, I'm completely satisfied with both monitors right out of the box.

Excellent monitor for under $200. Crystal clear, LED lit. Unbelievable dynamic range. Easy to set up with VGA, DVI & HDMI connections. Was a little bright out of the box. After trying out all the various settings, I ended up just using the "standard" setting. Super fast shipment from B & H.
