Comments about General Brand 55mm Macro Coupler (Male to Male):
Cheaper way to get bigger than 1:1 macro picture. The cost of this Macro coupler plus a used manual focus lens in 35~50mm range is still much cheaper than 2 elements close-up filter lens or easier to add-on in the field than extension tube.
I can get very good picture with fixed focal length lens on both side, and still good picture with high quality 70-200mm range zoom lens on the camera. I would say no zoom lens on the reverse side since the resulting picture is very hazy.

Comments about General Brand 55mm Macro Coupler (Male to Male):
Whenever we shoot for more than 1x magnification and we require at least 4 cm.'s of focus distance we need a macro coupler to reverse the lens. This is how macro couplers invented. A Back-Bone of Macro photography. I cannot dream a serious macro photographer without this gear..
