Comments about G-Technology 1.5TB G-RAID mini Dual-Drive External Hard Drive Array:
I bought this drive to use as a mirror for video work. In RAID 0 all was well but when reconfigured to RAID 1, it stopped mounting on my desktop. After a long talk with GTech's support, nothing was resolved. THe only thing the representative was able to tell me was that they don't reccommend using this drive in RAID 1 [even though that is not mentioned in the product description and there is a reconfiguration to RAID 1 download and instructions on GTech's website for this particular project. Very disappointed.

Comments about G-Technology 1.5TB G-RAID mini Dual-Drive External Hard Drive Array:
I use this in Raid 1 configuration as a redundant backup for my photography business.
The setup is not as intuitive as it could be for PC users (Have to format the drive to NTFS before you can change the configuration to RAID 1, then you have to format it to NTFS ~AGAIN~ But it works fine.
Things to note:
- The drive is formatted in Raid 0 out of the box, and set up for Mac OS.
- The drive does not automatically power down when you power down your PC or unplug the USB/Firewire connection, you have to actually unplug the AC power adapter in order to shut the drive down. NOT GREAT FOR LONGEVITY in my opinion, but with Raid 1 I am not concerned.

Comments about G-Technology 1.5TB G-RAID mini Dual-Drive External Hard Drive Array:
Powerful drive that runs quite smoothly. I'm currently using it to store video files for editing and it works absolutely great. The included firewire cable (along with usb 2.0 and eSATA cables) really improves the capabilities of this drive. I also really like the fact that this drive can not only store information, but it can back it up for you as well, as part of the RAID 1 option; it's really nice to have all of that security. I would recommend this over any Western Digital drives, which have given me many problems in the past.

Comments about G-Technology 1.5TB G-RAID mini Dual-Drive External Hard Drive Array:
I needed a reliable hard drive to store photos of our baby. I went with this drive because it is redundant with it's RAID 1 function. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the drive, how quiet it is, and how compact it is for a RAID system.
