Cotton Carrier Universal Hubless Adapter Plate
The Cotton Carrier Universal Hubless Adapter Plate lets you combine a quick-release plate – for mounting your camera on a tripod & head – with your existing Cotton Carrier quick-release Camera Hub that fits the receivers found on the manufacturer's vests and holsters.
Attach your video or photo head's quick-release plate to the to the Universal Hubless Adapter Plate via its standard 1/4"-20 thread and your Camera Hub to the adapter using the included Allen key & screw, and you'll have a double-quick-release plate that you can attach to your camera. You'll then be able to switch quickly between operating your camera on a head & tripod and carrying it on a vest or side holster system from Cotton Carrier.
Note! For compatibility with longer plates such as those used with video heads, you will also need a 733QRS Quick-Release Clamp (with spacer). Cotton Carrier Camera Hub and quick-release plate with 1/4"-20 screw also sold separately.

This adapter plate for the Cotton Carrier (CC) allows you to quickly mount your camera to the tripod with out removing the CC hub, which mounts on the bottom of your camera in the same spot as you would normally mount the tripod quick release mounting plate. The tripod mounting plate is offset from it's intended location but that should not interfere with the use of a tripod.

Necessary if you don't want to switch between the cotton carrier plate and your tripod quick disconnect plate. Adds a bit of height and weight to the camera body but not too much. The rubber gasket has an extra little bit sticking out that doesn't seem to have any need. That extra bit also gets in the way of the battery door on my 7D a little but it can be bent out of way.
Basically you screw the adapter to your camera with an allen screw with the gasket in between them. Then you screw a cotton carrier disc to the adapter. Then you screw your tripod quick release plate to the adapter.
They SHOULD be making this with the disc built in. But I guess they want you to be able to use the angled or the normal one. It just seems silly to have so many screws.
All in all, necessary but annoying.

Having both the tripod mount and Cotton hub offset means camera hangs off center with the cotton. An improved design would use the existing cotton hub bolt (only longer) to secure the bracket and then only the tripod mount would be offset.

This adapter now allows me to keep my Cotton Carrier hub on the camera and still put the camera on my tripod with my Manfrotto adaptor--a great improvement. It did take a call to Cotton to help me figure out how to install it, but they were patient and we got it going.
