Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Canon 5D and 5D Mark II Models:
I have always used eyepiece extenders for better viewing, but when my Canon extender slid off my 20D like it had done so many times and this latest occurrence it remained unfound, I decided to go in the eyecup direction. So much better! Allows no light in making it easier for me to just concentrate on my composition. It's comfortable, lies flat against my cheek in portrait or landscape orientation, and provides a completely dark environment for the viewfinder.

Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Canon 5D and 5D Mark II Models:
I've got tired of leaving smudges on the LCD of my camera and on my glasses and after reading some good comments on a bird photographers forum decided to get the "glasses" model of hoodeye. A big mistake.
1st it is extremely hard to put the thing on the camera (5D mark II), I had to use all my strength to push it on, which speaks volumes of the quality.
Once it was on it did not do any good - it felt uncomfortable, covered part of the LCD and kept my relatively small glasses away from the viewfinder.
I immediately removed it and put back the stock eyecup.
I praise Hoodman for developing the product, unfortunately the execution and quality are not satisfactory.

Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Canon 5D and 5D Mark II Models:
This eyecup is good for people who wear glasses. It allows you to see the number in the view finder better. However, if you use live view, this eye cup gets in the way and cover about 1/5 of the top of the LCD. I have to remove the rubber when I use live view. Be aware that it is difficult to remove the entire unit after being installed

Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Canon 5D and 5D Mark II Models:
Use this to improve visibilty in viewfinder of image and light meter functions. These were often difficult to read in some conditions, particularly bright light. Short of Lasik this is the best alternative. My glasses are medium size and it covers it adequately.

I've got the original Canon 5D and this rotating eyeglass cup works great in vertical or horizontal compositions.
