Work's very well, a must have if you wear glasses.
a bit tough to put on it fits very tight must keep trying to get it on. you need to tilt it up then slide it down like the directions say. once on keep the directions in your bag or with your camera,s other books. in case you get anouther camera and want to switch it over.
leave it on all the time. works like a charm. covers the whole of the glasses you can now realy lean into the viewfinder and shoot comfortably' cup will turn around for left eye shooting, well made will not slip off and get lost. as much as cameras cost these days it is a shame they don't already come with one of these on them. I have always used an eye cup it is like a must have along with a good strap, they are just the tools that you must have to make shooting comfortable. You install them and forget them, always there always helping you get on with your work, and enjoyment, of the craft. Works great on my Nikon D 7000. it hides the back dysplay a bit, not that big of a problem, after all it is for eye glasses viewing. all buttons are acessable.

I don't know how this product earns four stars; I have to force it on and off my Nikon D300s, which it's universally advertised to fit. Since I will have to detach each time I put the camera in the bag, it's pretty much useless. I got it for Christmas and needed 5 minutes (and a call to Hoodman) to force it on, but couldn't get it off with all the force of my two thumbs lifting the tabs (I'm a 165-lb man). I finally used a screwdriver, scratching the camera. Obviously it shouldn't fall off, but it should go on and off comparably to the OEM eyepiece.
Hoodman replaced it, but the new one doesn't work much better. I'm going for the screwdriver now. I'm torn between filing it with a jewelry file to try to make it fit better or seeing if Hoodman will give me a refund when I don't have a receipt. I do need an eyepiece like this because I wear glasses and because I was tipped that it makes shooting with a big lens hand-held much steadier; but I see nothing else out there.

I will start by saying I just did not have problems installing the Eyecup. Maybe the manufacturer changed something.
It really helps me read the exposure and camera settings in bright light. If I did not need glasses I don't suspect I'd need this though.
I am surprised by how flexible the cover is. It is more comfortable to use than I'd have ever guessed. It doesn't interfere with the view or with carrying the camera. When carried it rests against your side so it is relatively unobstrusive.

Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Nikon Square Eyepiece Models:
The eyecup fits my glasses well but I do not see any better and it is too large for me to store my camera back into my photoequipment back pack. I have removed it and placed it on the shelf and will not use it. My wife wears glasses and tried the eyecup and found it did not work for her either. The product is well made but just does not fit my work style. If I had not lost the packaging I would have returned it. It probably works well for many folks and as such cannot say that I would not recommend it, I can say try it and if it works great if not return it.

I perchased the Hoodeye for my Nikon D-60. I should had one years ago. Wereing glasses and looking thru the view finder was a daunting ordeal. Now i can view the entire viewfinder and see all the settings and focus which was such a pain befor. If you wear glasses you have to try this accessory. Now I can spend my time taking better photographs. It slips on and off with ease.

After years of peering through the D-80 viewfinder while wearing bifocal glasses, I am very please with the glasses model Hoodeye. The installation instructions, while quite clear, things didn't go quite a smoothly, but several minutes of trying everything snapped into place.

Since I wear glasses, this eyecup makes it possible to view the lite numbers in the viewfinder. The rubber is soft and is not scratching the lens on my glasses. In addition, it rotates so the camera can be help is either the horizontal or vertical position to take pictures.

It took all my strength to fit the Eyecup onto the camera. I almost needed a hammer to remove it.
Once in place it worked great.

Worked as described. Much more comfortable now. I find it easy to install as well. I use it all the time now so I don't need to take it out. If not because of the cost, I will give it a 5 stars.

I am astonished at the difference this eye cup makes. It completely blocks out light. I highly recommend this Eyecup. I can't imagine how I lived without it so long.

covers glasses well, it is comfortable, you can realy lean into the viewfinder.
it will turn around for left or right eye shooting, it is very well made.
you must follow the directions and tilt it up slightley, then slide it down , it will click into place. may take a few try's to install once it is on leave it on. be shure to keep the directions handy and in your bag, in case you get another camera, and want to switch it out. that would be the only reason to ever take it off. unless you want to use the viewfinder cover in rare times that you would ever need to do that.
Feels good on the face, a must have tool, i have always had a good eye cup and a good strap, these two tools are your comfort and are the maine physical most secure contact you have with the camera, they will help you feel one with the camera, and will alow you to shoot with confidence and be more relaxed at shooting.

This assembled easily to my D300. It does help immensely when I focus. It does seem to come off easily due to its size when going in and out of the bag. My best bet is to remove it so it does not get misshapen and pulled off when taking the camera body out of the bag. The size of it is what makes it work, but also what causes its limitations. It could be a little softer perhaps.

Comments about Hoodman Glasses Model Hoodeye Eyecup for Nikon Square Eyepiece Models:
It was a bit too large. The lower portion of the eyecup covered up the top of the monitor and seemed to distort the image through the eyepiece. Otherwise it was comfortable and fit glasses well.

Works great, keeps my glasses from getting scrathed up pushing against the camera and keeps my nose off the lcd. Also auto focuses better in low light because less light leaks in. By biggest gripe is you can't put th lcd cover on and that is why I give 4 stars and not 5.
