The GorillaPod Hybrid Flexible Mini-Tripod with Ball Head - Gray/Black from Joby is designed to support small cameras with interchangeable lenses – Micro Four Thirds models and various other EVIL (electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens) compact cameras.
Featuring the same style of bendable, grippy, wrap-around legs that have made GorillaPods both famous and highly useful, the GorillaPod Hybrid can be mounted on fence posts, trees, car hoods, and uneven surfaces – the rubber grips on its legs and feet keep your camera in place in any environment.
The Hybrid model also offers an integrated aluminum ball head that has separate controls for pan and tilt. This will keep the frame level and stable as you pan smoothly across a landscape while capturing a video clip. The GorillaPod Hybrid supports cameras up to 2.2 lb on just about any surface.

This tripod is extremely useful. The ball head is great for quickly adjusting the camera, and the tripod legs are good on any surface. The legs and ball head can easily sport my Panasonic DMC-FZ100 (about 1 pound). Very compact and lightweight.

I use this to hold a Zoom H4n audio recorder to my video tripod head when shooting with a DSLR to record better audio than the DSLR gives. It works pretty well. My one complaint is that the connection between the first "ball" and the head is not as firm as the connections between the rest of the "balls." It would be nice if it were firmer.

I bought this to use with a Tascam DR-100 audio recorder. And it's perfect. I can set up fast--using the quick release--on a table, or wrap it around a tree. And the ball head feature allows me to pan and tilt my recorder for ease of use. It's just what I was looking for.

Used the "Hybrid" while shooting hunting videos this past weekend. Worked great in sub-freezing weather and snow. Once it is set is it is easy and steady. Getting it set does take some time.
