The Zenbook UX31E-DH53 Ultrabook 13.3" Notebook Computer from ASUS takes portability to the next level. With a super slim profile of two-thirds of an inch, a weight of less than 3 pounds and 7 hours of battery life, this ASUS notebook was built for ultimate mobility. While thin and lightweight, this ASUS notebook is far from fragile. It has a spun aluminum lid to match its champagne hairline chassis for a solid build and stylish design.
The system is powered by a 1.70GHz Intel Core i5-2557M processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technology. This ASUS notebook also features USB 3.0, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0. It allows you to use the latest external storage devices that support the USB 3.0 protocol, without having to add an expansion card. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

Comments about ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH53 Ultrabook 13.3" Notebook Computer:
My old laptop died and I needed an immediate replacement, so hesitantly I bought this given it seemed the best of a sad landscape for PC mobiles right now (not counting macs which are awesome but don't work for me). The screen has a nice high res, but fundamentally it is inferior TN tech like in almost all PC mobiles. Terrible color inversion issues when viewing media. I see apparently the upcoming replacement for this laptop has IPS panels (which are common in Apple products) that would solve this major flaw. I wish I would have bought that :(.

Comments about ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH53 Ultrabook 13.3" Notebook Computer:
I wanted a small and lightweight laptop for home use to replace my 6 year old Dell laptop. Wasn't interested in a tablet because I don't like the virtual keyboard. Bought at B&H one day and arrived via UPS one day later about a month ago. Very thin, very light and really good looking. That's how my wife wanted me to describe her. I had to add that the aluminum case also makes it cold to the touch. I looked a the Macbook but really wasn't comfotable going to Apple OS. Also didn't like how peripheirals connect and the touchpad as much as the Asus. 2 USB ports (one is 3.0), micro HDMI plus SD card slot if I need more storage space. Sound is very good when playing videos. Screen brightness is amazing. I find keyboard comfortable. Only complaint is I wish keysboard was backlit like others are but I there were too many other positives. Got the 256 GB SDD. Response time is good. Re-starts very quickly when you open lid. Face recognition too but that is a little hit and miss if you are not in the same kind of lighting. I actually like the touchpad and how scrolling pages with 2 fingers is possible. No problems. Doing all the Windows updates took a while. Connected with my home wireless without a hitch and re-connects every time without ay hiccups. Also connected to my wireless at work again with no problems the first tme or any time since. I can get 5-6 hours of internet use without a problem, maybe longer. Power cord is good although I too feel the plug into the laptop does feel it could be easily broken. It's just something I know I will know I want to be careful with, hopefull for years. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. No problems since day one. Would recommend this to anyone debating a tablet vs. ultrabook.
