Beats Audio is exclusive to HP notebook computers and is provided through integrated quad speakers. The rear pair of speakers can tilt forward to kick the sound right at you for the ultimate listening experience. Beats Audio is unlike other laptop speakers because it can eliminate electronic background noise, go from whisper quiet to blasting loud without flattening out the sound, add powerful amplifiers for full-bodied sound and a bass boost button to pump up volume even more.
This system is powered by a dual-core 2.40GHz Intel Core i5-2430M processor with Intel Turbo Boost technology. It also has 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 750GB 5400rpm hard drive, a built-in HP TrueVision HD low-light webcam, an integrated digital microphone, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv6-6169us 15.6" Notebook Computer (Dark Umber):
Well, what can I say. I decided to give HP yet another chance, but it's always something. This is my 3rd HP. I bought this one in January 2012. In this case, it's the integrated webcam and mic that stopped working inexplicably. Predictably, HP support is no help (prior issues with other HP laptops include wireless and audio turning on/off automatically, remained unresolved) I guess if you don't skype or want to create a video for Facebook or something, the webcam issue is not important. I've read 50 comments about the same thing in the support forums, and HP refuses to acknowledge there is an issue (this is true to HP form) and the user verdict is that it's simply poor quality manufacturing.. a wire loose). It gets a 2 because, for now, I can access the internet (this post) and I can still see things on the screen. I imagine that will change over a short time.

A bit heavy for a 15.6 laptop, and nothing spectacular in terms of installed software. As a matter of fact I disabled some of the preloaded tools from HP.
Otherwise it is a decent laptop at $700 or so.
This wasn't actually for me but for my sister whom I helped with setup etc..

I'm in the event photography business and I own an older a HP laptop that just couldn't cut it anymore, so I started the daunting task of searching for a new one. After long and tiring searches, I thought "What about B&H". I practically bought all the photo equipment I own from them; why not give them a shot at selling me a laptop. I compared a bunch of models and most other stores either didn't have or overpriced them. Due to my fiscal budget, I purchased this the dv6169. it does have a lot of the goodies I wanted in my price range I-5 core with the boost (I don't know if it ever kicked in)but it's fast, the BD player, 6G's of ram which I plan to max out to16G's soon (by the way those little 8G chippers cost just about as much as the laptop) the screen is nice, that beats sound stuff they brag about sounds OK but it leaves me questioning (it could be that I haven't heard any of the other laptops lately to compare) I guess I have to invest in those outrageously priced headphones maybe then I'll see/hear what all the hype is about. And as some of the others have stated the touch pad is a bit tricky/sometimie, the body color does show fingerprints (oh my, no biggie)and i didn't really need the number keys but i can live with it. But let me be clear, I bought this laptop for business/ no games! So all I need for this machine to do is help me make that $$ quicker, easier and faithfully! And I thought I never say this being an ol' school XP user, the Win 7 system so far is pretty dang good! I plugged in a mouse "Boom" it worked! I use a second screen (to keep the customers off my back) plugged it in "Boom"! It works. I loaded all my software i needed and printer drivers Boom, Boom, Boom they work! I didn't have to set a thing! Well maybe the one thing I had to set (still optional) I like the finger print reader, that's cool (especially when I don't want anyone looking over my shoulder trying to get my password to maybe later jack my laptop) Now I am back to not having to drag my tower to all my events, just five mins. to plug in and it's "show me the money" if I had the funds I would have got the bigger HP but I am not at all unhappy with this one. The last one I bought (and I'm talking about back in the "Cusa" days) it cost me over a grand for that HP and it was as fast they where offering back then. It's Cecil turtle now days. You can get power & speed under the grand mark. It's just the extra goodies that would have taken me into the 4 digit price. I'm just going to be a bit more patient when I upgrade my tower (from B&H of course). The rebate deal and free shipping and the free (6 months) web root anti virus software they put in the box added some icing to the cake! and last thing before I digress, B&H shipping is the best! If they have it in stock and you order it before the cut off time it's in the truck on its way to you! In most cases, even with the free shipping (I thought I better throw that in there so we won't be misquoted) I need a new van, I wonder if B&H has a page for that!! LOL! If they did it would be a good deal. Happy New Year to my family @ B&H!!
