FilmPack 3 Expert Edition from DxO is an intriguing program that allows you to apply analog film effects to your digital photos. In this edition of FilmPack 3, you have a number of different effects: twenty-six different black and white films, thirty-six color films, eighteen filters, six different tonings, and sixty-two different film grains (including silver halide). Some of these effects mimic celebrated film types of the past, such as Kodak Tri-X, Fuji Neopan, and Kodak Porta 160 NC, among others.

FilmPack 3 Expert Edition includes a few more advanced functions not found on the Essential Edition. You can denoise pictures before adding any effects to improve the clarity of the image. You can create and save your own parameters for intensity, grain, and contrast so that you can apply them to other images. You can create vignettes around images for that "vignette" effect. In addition, for all those color film and black and white film effects, you can make fine-grade adjustments. For applying effects to a large swath of photos, batch processing is there for you.

FilmPack 3 features a simple, quick interface that lets you easily process all of your images and allows you to categorize presets for your photos. While FilmPack 3 Expert Edition can work as a standalone program, it also can work as a plugin for DxO Optics Pro v6.6 or higher, the 32-bit versions of CS4 or CS5, Adobe Lightroom 3, and Apple Aperture 3. Want vintage film effects without investing the money, time, and hassle to acquire the cameras and film? Then go for the whole enchilada with FilmPack 3 Expert Edition.

Film Grain
DxO FilmPack offers you the beauty of silver halide film grain. Two indispensible tools allow you to obtain faithful imitations of the film grains of yesteryear. Add grain to your digital photos to rediscover the authentic quality of film, to lend character to your images, and to discover a new photographic dimension. Many different grain styles are available.

This version of FilmPack 3 also features denoising. To accurately render film photography effects, you may reduce the noise in an image before adding a film grain. Thanks to its denoising tool, DxO FilmPack lets you eliminate noise from your digital photos, particularly in dark zones, without altering or reducing the image quality.
