The Series 7 11.6" Business Slate Tablet from Samsung is a lightweight, slate tablet with full Windows functionality. This Samsung tablet offers all the features of a traditional notebook computer in an extremely portable package in order to provide users the computing power they need to maximize their productivity while staying mobile.
Weighing less than two pounds and measuring only half an inch thin, this Samsung tablet fully embraces its portability as a tablet. Its sleek, slim design and up to seven hours of battery life ensures that this Samsung tablet will keep you productive while on the go. It also has Samsung's exclusive Fast Start technology so you press the power button and instantly access all your programs and files. Press the power button again and this Samsung tablet will go into a hybrid sleep mode.
This Samsung tablet has an 11.6" HD widescreen display with multi-touch capabilities. It uses Samsung's patented SuperBright Plus technology, which gives the screen a brilliant display of up to 16 million colors. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and the 1366 x 768 native resolution is supported by integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics.
The system is powered by a dual-core 1.60GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processor. It also has 4GB of RAM, a 64GB solid state drive, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, a 2.0-megapixel front webcam and a 3.0-megapixel webcam as well as built-in stereo speakers with a subwoofer. Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I recently decided to go completely mobile, releasing my desktop PC and laptop PC into the wild...
I am VERY happy with my decision and the help of the Samsung Slate 7 because:
the solid state technology makes everything FASTER.
the few times I was mobile (with my former laptop) have become WAY more frequent with the Slate because its (optional) convenient port makes it VERY easy to pick up and go.
the Netgear N900 router I chose to link my external TB drive to is immeasurably convenient for storing locally (not in the cloud) and I have access anywhere I have internet access...which is everywhere as my Windows Phone has an internet sharing function with the 7.5 Mango release on my HTC HD7.
I have written notes at a conference already, "out of the box" as it were, and although the intuitive interface still needs to learn what words I write (technically speaking) it is FAST and easy to use right out of the box.
I previewed Windows 8 on this Slate and it seems like "Apps" will take the place of programs eventually, giving the desktop a view that looks like a Windows Phone - so convenient for global looks at all my notifications (weather, email, calendar, etc)
This is an AWESOME tool for making my computing life easier, faster, more convenient, and reliable.
I have not yet used the WiDi, which is one of the reasons I chose the i5 processor - the i5 has consisently performed way above my expectations, including streaming HD video through my 3G WP7/T-Mobile connection without flaw.
I also use a MUCH larger screen while at home and the processor has NO issues/delays/crashes since I've been using the optional dock port to link the HDMI screen sharing mode into the additional monitor.
There is one thing I'd like to see in a future release: removable, longer lasting battery - currently, it runs moderately-taxing processes with about a 4 hour battery life. It is part of my mobile life that I have long battery life - 6-7 hours is what I am used to, and having an already-charged, interchangable battery is important for staying mobile. The Slate DOES charge quickly (in about 30 mins), but I imagine that time will lengthen with more usage...
I only wish I had purchased the 128GB version (although I upgraded the removable microSD slot with an additional 64GB card) because moving all my programs to (even!) a 64GB HD seems to be filling up fast.
I cannot recommend this more emphatically than to say: GET ONE - you will not be disappointed!

This is one of the best tablet pc I have ever owned. The screen is ultra bright and clear. It has amazing fast speed start-up I have ever had. Opening photoshop cs3 application takes only 3 sec. Quite durable and slim. Attractive look. No cons for now. I was thinking to purchase non-business version samsung tablet pc, but b&h didn't have it in stock often, so i purchased business version by paying $50 more. Perfect for the replacement of my desktop when I am outside. It is Intel i5 with 4Gb Ram !!! you can't go wrong. I love it.
