This netbook is exactly what we needed. It's small, light, and surprisingly powerful for the price. I have a BIG gaming/Photoshop computer that we needed to pack away in order to make room for our new little daughter. After discussing our options (me, begging my wife to let me keep the big PC hooked up), we decided that a netbook made the most sense. Since we don't really do much more than check email, web-browse, and facebook, the Aspire One AO722-0473 appeared to fit the bill.
Spoiler Alert… It does fit the bill.
I looked everywhere, and BH had the best price I could find (and trust)… with free shipping. We received it through UPS within a week, and I promptly went through the whole bloat-ware removal process (took about 30 min). Accidently removed ACER Games. Slightly regretting that now… oh well. That's what the internet is for.
This thing hums along pretty well. I did not upgrade the ram as I've heard many people do, and as far as I've seen, it hasn't broken %50 memory usage yet with the included 2 gigs. I have a moderate Wi-Fi connection at the apartment, and web pages load pretty fast even with multiple pages open. Wireless card seems to be fine as it doesn't have any issues recognizing possible connections. Doesn't seem to have any problem with YouTube, but I haven't tried any other streaming video yet. Has a feature to turn off connection if not in use (a little reassurance with open Wi-Fi).
The processor also seems sufficient. It has integrated graphics to cut down on size and heat. According to the Task Manager, it does spike a little when using Google Chrome, but doesn't really slow down.
With this much power in such a small container, I was worried about heat build-up, but the tiny little vent on the left side seems to be doing just fine.
Battery life is pretty good and has fully customizable power options based on your needs. Speaking of power conservation, this is another reason we decided to use this netbook over my very hungry gaming PC.
This model comes with a bunch of USB ports for an external disc player, mouse (even though the track pad is awesome!), flash-drive, etc. It also has an HDMI Out which, I think, is good forethought by ACER since this seems like a great device for a traveler (presentations, movies, photos).
This model also comes with a pre-loaded Microsoft Office Starter (non-trial) version that works for us, and doesn't require future investment to keep working.
A couple of "negatives".
The screen hinge is a little flimsy, but common sense and moderate care eliminates A LOT of problems. Keyboard takes some getting used to, but works fine except for the X key on our unit. We don't use that key often, so what evs.
I can tell you're getting bored, so I'll wrap it up.
I am very picky when it comes to electronics and larger purchases, and I could not be happier with this netbook. Let me remind you, this is a netbook. If you need more than this thing can offer, do a little more research and save a little more money to get what you need. If this is what you require, I believe it is well worth the investment.
Thank you for your time, and I hope this review helps someone make an informed decision.
Oh yeah, the screen is nice to look at too.

I really can't comment on the stock performance, as I upgraded both the memory and the hard drive to SSD as soon as it arrived. With those upgrades, I'd sa it is comparable to a entry level full size laptop. I purchased it for my son, who, definitely enjoys it. There is some flex in the keyboard, but don't believe you will be buying this to type novels.
Even with the upgrades, don't expect to throw too much at it. It does get great battery life, and is perfectly capable for internet use, flash, video streaming, and productivity apps. Just don't throw any standalone games. I get a Win 7 experience score of 3.3-the culprit being the processor.

This was the perfect fit for what we needed. We were looking for something to have on our boat to be able to check weather, e-mails, and stream Netflix on when we were overnighting. We didn't really need a full blown laptop and space/weight are an issue on a sailboat. This netbook is the perfect size and weight and was much less costly than a pad that has a smaller screen. The LCD backlit screen is brilliantly crisp and clear. My only complaint is the sound and volume are acceptable at best. Plugging into an outside speaker source helps. For the money though, we could not be happier.

As a primary MAC user, the Aspire One by Acer makes a decent secondary machine. As with almost all Netbooks, it's great because it's light and packs enough to do most tasks. Email/Documents.
Although I would not sit using it for hours, it's great when I want to lug it around with me during the day and finish up documents, proposals, emails or just waste time on the net.
It's a windows OS so i'm not exactly fond of the constant updates and slow web browsing but it's good enough for temporary use when I need it.
Serves it purpose. Would buy again as the price is hard to beat.

I bought this netbook as a second PC to use throughout my house and also on the road. It is lightweight and well designed. With a 320GB hard drive and 2GB DDR3 memory it operates like a full-featured laptop or desktop. Windows 7 Home Premium loads quickly, and the screen resolution is superb (HD quality). Having a traditional keyboard is nice, in contrast to a touchscreen keyboard like an iPad. The battery life is good. I have been able to use it for over six hours before having to charge it. The only limitations are no built-in DVD which I knew when I bought it, and the left and right "buttons" below the scroll pad are actually slim bars which are somewhat stiff when pressed. However, these two issues aside, I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it to any prospective buyer.

It has a slightly bigger screen than most of the netbooks in its price range and it maintains the same battery life. Full Windows 7 and 2GB ram is also great. This laptop does all I need it to and streams movies really well.

I needed a new computer and decided on a netbook due to the portability and low prices. This is what I wanted and then some! A decent sized screen, decent processor, the same ram and hd space as my old 15" Toshiba, great battery life, and a sleek design! If you want to buy a netbook this is the one to buy!

I've been debating on a netbook for awhile and when my laptop was finally running way too slow, I picked up the Acer Aspire One and I love it! The oversize keys took a little bit to get used to. I moved from XP to Windows 7, so most of my complaints are learning the new operating system rather than an issue with the actual computer. I like the short cuts on the keyboard to turn wireless on and off. The speakers are not as loud as my last laptop, but plugging in exterior speakers gets rid of that problem. My ultimate plan is to have a desktop as a media center and use the netbook for what I'm working on at the moment, so the netbook (and Windows 7 networking options) work perfectly for what I'm looking for.

Great little netbook for browsing, spreadsheets and word. I also use it to backup my digital photos while on long trips. Graphics and system is responsive. The screen is excellent with the higher resolution. Battery life is also excellent with about 8 hrs easily achieved. Great keyboard too. Highly recommended.
