Cyclopital3D Stereo Base Extender for JVC GS-TD1 3D Camcorder
The Cyclopital3D Stereo Base Extender for JVC GS-TD1 3D Camcorder increases the camcorder's lens spacing from 32 to 140mm, which allows you to record exciting 3D video from up to four times further away. With the camera's original 3D lens, shooting high-quality 3D from a distance is nearly impossible. This because the parallax decreases quickly with the standard 32mm lens spacing. The Stereo Base Extender uses perfectly aligned high-quality front surface mirrors to effectively increase the lens spacing to 140mm. By lengthening the stereo base, you can shoot quality 3D video from up to four times further. This is ideal for shooting wildlife from a distance or for shooting a concert from the crowd. The Stereo Base Extender is ideal for shooting subjects farther than about 13 feet away. When using it while shooting anything closer, the image may be uncomfortable to view in 3D, depending on the background.

I left a review earlier stating how the base extender scratched my camera. In short the product works VERY well, the issues with my unit were isolated to the unit I had and there have been no other instances of this happening, so feel safe to purchase!!! I will buy from them again and they are great people who take pride in there work and customer care!
In talking to the great folks at Cyclopital it seems that this was a fluke and isolated event. Not only has this not happened before but they went above and beyond not only to make sure I was satisfied but to make sure that they took my experience to improve their products in the future.
I left my review before talking with the folks at Cyclopital3d and that was my mistake.
This product adds depth to the scene making this entry level 3d camcorder into something more than entry level!
The actual build quality is top notch, solid and functional. It will probably outlast the camcorder itself!
I recently purchased a panasonic z10000 as well and am planning on purchasing a base extender for them as well.

Though this seems to work upon revieving the Cyclopital3D in the mail this morinin and putting it on right away. Upon removing the base extender I found it severely scratched the front of my camcorder... even removing the matte material at one point. The inside mounting area is rough , the outside of the base extender is smooth but the inside where the camcorder inserts is not smoothed out and this is a BIG problem. I cannot recommend this product unless you do not mind major scratches or take the time to first sand it yourself and for this price that should not be required. Therefor in general I cannot recommend this at this time!

I was very skeptical about the base extender at first. I had read about it over on the AVS forums from a guy that bought it. But once he posted some videos of shots without the base extender and then the same shot with the base extender installed I was blown away. My wife and I were going on a vacation and I wanted to make a 3D movie out of it. Right after I saw the footage on the AVS forums I knew I wanted this for my movie. I contacted Cyclopital3Dand almost right away they got back with me. I was able to have it shipped fast to Japan just before I left on vacation! They were friendly and when it arrived it was packaged very good.It is very easy to install and remove, I love how it slides right on the front of the cam so easy.I used it throughout my vacation and WOW the increased depth is just amazing!! I shot some scenery outa a large tower and when I watched it back on my 3D TV I couldn't believe how the base extender added so much depth. Honestly, I am in love with it and shall always use it in my 3D movies from now on.I am in the process of making my next movie "the vacation where I used the extender" so once I am done you can check it out on my website, [@] I'll also be adding some sample files showing just how great the depth is using the extender.The only con I have is the glass gets dirty quite easy inside and out. But it seems that it can be removed and cleaned easy, so not really a problem.If you own the JVC cam, this is a MUST HAVE! I'd give it more stars if it let me!! It literally makes the little JVC cam have the depth of a pro cam.

I was practically giddy when I saw the footage I shot with this device. The increased sense of depth is phenomenal. The JVC TD1 is an amazing 3D camcorder, but it has one serious limitation. The narrow distance between its lenses has always meant that there were certain shots I was never going to get. I can get those deeply satisfying 3D shots now. The extender slips on and off easily, it's very stable and it just plain works.
It's a must have accessory for my JVC TD1.
