LaPlug from LaCie is a Wi-Fi b/g/n media adapter that lets you turn any USB hard drive into a network storage device, sharing its files wirelessly throughout your home. Just connect the LaPlug to your network, then connect the drive to the LaPlug. Now, you have a low-cost way to make files stored on your USB hard drives more accessible than ever. For ultimate convenience, you can connect a USB printer to the LaPlug, making it wirelessly available to all the computers on your network.
LaPlug even supports remote access using a DynDNS account for when you're on the road. It's also easy to access USB drives connected to the LaPlug from any networked equipment that's UPnP / DLNA certified--so you can, say, watch a movie from the comfort of your living room, even if the LaPlug is located in another part of the house. You can also stream music to computers running iTunes on your network the same way.
The LaPlug offers a convenient way to automatically back up all your family's computers onto one central location. Since the LaPlug supports Wi-Fi, you don't even have to connect the computer to the LaPlug in order to start backups!

Comments about LaCie LaPlug Wi-Fi Media Adapter:
If you have several older external USB2.0 drives sitting around and you are wandering what should you do with them, then LaPlug is the easiest solution how to make all these older drives usable again and it is not too expensive either. It opens door for extra storage on the network (which means you can access it from anywhere on your network), also it can serve as a media adapter. You can have all of your photos, musics, videos on the network, you can backup your data, etc. And all these possible with a very little investment comparing to a real network drives. It's just perfect gadget.
