Glowing review of a memory card?
What can be said about a compactflash card? There aren't any buttons or a touchscreen or anything shiny to rave about.
Yet don't overlook the importance of it in its simplicity.

Built rugged to withstand the ill-timed drop from a hand during a wedding reception. Fast write times to keep up with a buffer full of shots during the winning touchdown. Of course enough capacity to keep shooting without constantly swapping out cards too. The CF card is the backbone of any photographer's gear.
Lexar has never failed me since I switched to digital 12 years ago, and as long as they make them, I'll keep buying them.
Oh, and the two pack is a great deal at this price too.

I'm a professional photog shooting lots of fast action. I purchased this bundle last september from B&H, because i've been using previously Lexar's 300x speed cards and i never had any trouble with them. Now these 400x speed cards were fine for few months, then file corruptions started to roll in. Pretty much every time i had between 5-10 corrupted files in a card, no matter if i shot 100 or 400 frames into it. I shoot mainly surfing from water and it really svcks if the money shot in a seq has pink/green/white stripes all over it. Corrupted files also come in pairs most of the times, first one being half destroyed and second completely empty. I've done disk utility's 35 pass erase many times over, but it doesn't help. I shoot with two D3, and since corruption issues begun, i've been using the old 300x cards and all the issues went away.

Comments about Lexar 16GB Professional 400x Compact Flash Card - 2 Pack:
Flash cards at their best when they go unnoticed and these cards excel. Plenty of reliable capacity, great value.
One caution: Some older cameras won't recognize the higher capacity. You might want to check this out.
What more can you say?

Comments about Lexar 16GB Professional 400x Compact Flash Card - 2 Pack:
I've been using the vaious iterations of this card for the last six years in my Canon cameras. Never had a problem. As I've bought more of these 400x cards, all of my older, slower, smaller cards have been pushed out of my wallet. Lexar cards are the only brand that I use now.

One of the CF cards sporadically ejects itself while i'm ingesting images off of it. No problems with the second CF card so i'm hoping i just got a lemon. Have never had a problem with Lexar cards in the past.

This is the first time I jumped to 16g Lexar has always been reliable. Well, one time it crashed on me and the company recovered my pix and sent me a new card. I would never consider any other brand

After using these for several months, I am having the same problem several other users have encoutered. Corrupted files. A handful out of each download are un-usable. I am no longer going to use these cards.

Comments about Lexar 16GB Professional 400x Compact Flash Card - 2 Pack:
I use a dozen of these UDMA CF cards as well as a dozen SDHC versions of same in my Canon 5D Mark lll and they rock. Even 1080p is no match for these babies; either is 6fps in full RAW.
Cost a bit more but well worth the price.

Comments about Lexar 16GB Professional 400x Compact Flash Card - 2 Pack:
I rely heavily on the Lexar 16GB Compact Flash cards in my Nikon D700 SLR. I keep one in the camera and the other as a standby if/when I fill the first card with image files. The 400X read/write speed is fast enough to accomodate the write speed of the camera and fast enough to accomodate the read speed of my computers when I download it into my image folders. The memory size is not extremely large such that if it was damaged I would lose a considerable amount, but it is large enough to accomodate a day or two of shooting. I also use it for transferring files when they are too large to email or transfer by other means.

Comments about Lexar 16GB Professional 400x Compact Flash Card - 2 Pack:
This is the first time we have used a Lexar card, but they have a fantastic reputation and they haven't disappointed. This is also the first 16GB card we have used with 8GB cards our choice until now. We were always worried about losing to many images on a larger capacity card if it failed. However, as Lexar has a great reputation and the cards will last twice as long it seemed worth a try. Glad we did :)
