Just used my GoPro for the first time, and it definitely lived up to expectations. I got lots of great HD video footage of my snowboarding trip, using the included helmet mount. My friend has one too and he uses the adhesive mount; both work well. (See image of HD Hero2 by HD Hero2 on ski lift)
The wide angle FOV is great for action shots and video when you want to capture an entire scene.
The only downside would be that there is a tradeoff between sound quality and waterproofness (GoPro recommends not using the waterproof case for better sound quality). But it isn't terrible regardless.
I really like how you can mount these guys anywhere and that they can take a beating. Also, it is suprisingly easy to use considering that it only has 2 buttons and a ton of features/options.

Full Disclosure I am still working with the GoPro warranty department on this issue.
So I got my brand new gopro hero2 and my wife and I took it scuba diving thinking that it will be great we will get some amazing shots. Well at 20m down the housing starts leaking slightly not a full on flood and the camera stops working. Once I surfaced the housing was probably 1/8th full of water. I figured no problem the warranty should cover this, well if you look it up it does not. Now to be clear this was the very first time I used this product it was straight out of the package, I tested it in the bathtub before diving to ensure a good seal. Now I am currently emailing GoPro back and forth on this issue but was initial met with the "this is not covered under warranty". They are so far communication with me on this issue and will hopefully come to the conclusion that it is warrantied. I will update again once I have come to a conclusion with the people from GoPro.
But I don't know how Go Pro can advertise this under their Go Pro Hero 2 (all models) pages as "waterproof to 197′ (60m)"
and yet their warranty says
"Because of possible user resealing error, this product is not warrantied against waterhousing leakage or any resulting damage. Please review and follow the instructions carefully when sealing the waterhousings!"
Either the camera is waterproof or it isn't. It's pretty underhanded to state the item is waterproof unless you use it under water.

The best camera to go outdoors. I'm a fan.
My kayaks trips and mountain climbings will be better recorded, without the fear of damage the camera.

Comments about GoPro HD HERO2 Outdoor Edition:
This is very high quality, practical, functional toy with uses limited only by your imagination. I bought some additional hardware with it and have been looking for new mounting points.
I haven't yet tried it in extreme low light but it performs wonderfully in average room lighting and the video quality is excellent for such a small form factor. It works live through an HDMI or composite input on your TV.
I ride motorcycles and bikes and generally enjoy creative imaging in unusual situations. I'm using it to document my life to some degree and also record images of bike trails to play back this winter in front of my exercise bike. My favorite projects so far have been with street photography and video, lane splitting on my Harley (legal where I live- but still impressive visually to the uninitiated!) and close up urban wildlife video by combining camera with food for squirrels and birds.
This thing is BIG FUN!

This is the second Gopro camera I buy. I also bought a lot of accessories to mount the camera to different places of my bike, motorbike and climbing helmet. Great quality photos and videos; camera size is very comfortable and light to use on helmet; case and other accessories are wonderful. I am desperately waiting for the remote control, the only thing I miss when driving. I carry this really great camera all the time and to all places. Now it is a very important piece in my photographic equipment.

I had the hero 1 and it was doing a fine job. I needed another small camera so i decided to buy the hero 2. As soon as it came i went out to shoot some test footage and i was impressed. The footage came out amazing.

I am elated how this little video works! Great picture, very versatile and good sound! Love all the fun things you can do with this! EASY to use!
I highly recommend this to the pro or just a video buff!
The only thing a little disappointed with is it doesn't include the mount for a tripod. It also doesn't have the back for viewing... all are purchased separately.
I had heard the battery doesn't last that long, but I have been pleased with it... I do recommend a second battery purchase if you are using professionally

Comments about GoPro HD HERO2 Outdoor Edition:
I have been using GoPro camears for awhile now to work on travel-related and outdoor assignments. I was very pleased with the first version which only had 3 megapixel photos and am very impressed by this latest version and the higher megapixels and better low light capability. I used this recently while diving and the overall quality of the images was great and the video better. The one thing a buyer should be aware of when making the purchase is that the convex lens on the GoPro housing provied with the camera is really not that great for underwater photography deeper than just a few feet under. It was originally designed for surfing photos. GoPro has recently come out with a flat lense housing and there are other third-party companys who have designed flat lens housings as well that will greatly enhance the sharpness of underwater images. I highly suggest making that part of the purchase plan if you are intending on using it for diving. The flat lens will help bring it up closer to the level of a higher grade camera with housing.

Very poor quality indoors, even in decent light.
No means of locking an exposure, so almost useless for timelapses.
Extremely lame controls.

Comments about GoPro HD HERO2 Outdoor Edition:
I took this on a ski trip (used as a helmet cam) and it took amazing videos. The white balance and lighting auto adjusted really well. It's fairly easy to start and stop recording even while wearing gloves.
On the downside, for some reason I couldn't get it to start up on video mode; it always went to still (even though I followed the instructions on how to change the setting). So I always had to check the status by taking my helmet off.
Also, because it has no video screen, you can't look to see how videos turn out. I ended up having a bunch of videos that were pointed too low or too high.
Finally, it did fog up a couple time so I lost some really good shots. I later discovered an anti-fog strip you can insert into the case to prevent that, though.

Comments about GoPro HD HERO2 Outdoor Edition:
I got the Hero2 mostly for my brother, who has been wanting one for doing outdoor sports like parkour and snowboarding. But, I also had the idea that it'd be a great little camera for making time-lapses — and I was right! It's super easy to put it anywhere. The only downside is that the battery only lasts about 3.5 hours when shooting a time-lapse. I might have to invest in GoPro's larger battery pack.
