The ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray) features an LED backlit capacitive display with 10-finger multi-touch support. The IPS display has WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution, viewing angles up to 178° and is protected by a layer of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. There's 32GB of eMMC Flash storage and a 1GB DDR2 memory. The Prime runs an Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, which is upgradeable to an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. For proper multitasking and smooth HD 1080p video output, ASUS equipped the 10.1" tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core Mobile Processor. The Transformer Prime also has an optional keyboard docking station (sold separately) that can be attached, providing access to a full QWERTY keyboard - transforming it from tablet to notebook.
For connectivity, the Transformer Prime features WLAN 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth V 2.1+EDR. It also has a micro HDMI port for viewing stored and Internet content on an HDTV in full 1080p HD with a 5.1 ch surround sound system. There are front and rear facing digital cameras as well. Plus, the Transformer Prime has expandable storage capacity via the microSD card reader. When you're on-the-go, you'll appreciate the SRS Sound dynamic 3D stereo speakers, 2-in-1 audio jack and durable IPS scratch-resistant panel. The built-in SRS Sound technology provides maximum bass response and a wide sound field from the stereo speakers integrated into the tablet. The 2-in-1 audio jack utilizes a single jack as a headphone output and microphone input. There is also a digital array mic integrated into the tablet.
The portability of the Prime is enhanced by its lightweight and 0.33" thickness. Plus, as you turn the tablet in your hand, the G-sensor automatically changes the screen from portrait to landscape orientation. The Transformer Prime also includes a gyroscope, ambient light sensor, E-compass and GPS sensor. The Li-polymer battery lasts up to 12 hours and the user interface facilitates quick access to the tablet's software suite for easier on-the-move computing. Plus, if you choose to purchase the optional ASUS Transformer Prime Keyboard Docking Station, the battery life will be extended to 18 hours and you'll have the ability to swiftly transform your tablet into a full-on notebook with a full QWERTY keyboard, touchpad, USB 2.0 port and additional memory card reader.

Let me start off by stating that I received this from another store after a back order allowed for it to be leaked to me. I have had it for a few weeks now, and another family member received an iPad within a close date. I have used both and for being the same price, the new Transformer gives a true honeycomb experience, and when Ice Cream Sandwich is added on, it will only make things better I am sure.
At times, things can get sluggish, but that is from the fact that everything is not made to support Tegra 3 just yet. In time, more apps will be made to support the quad core. After seeing the original Transformer and comparing it to the Prime, it removes all of the problems of the previous generation.
The screen and overall design was beautiful (until my fingers touched it and fingerprints took hold), and the Gorilla Glass has allowed it to remain scratch-less for this test run. There are many ports available on the base and the dock adds even more, making it a great netbook alternative. In addition, the apps that are pre installed are great for liking files to your tablet or your entire computer.
I love this tablet and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great iPad alternative or just a great tablet all around.

This is a great android tablet with probably the fastest processor out there. It looks sleek and fits in the hand very nicely.
But if you are looking for a tablet with reliable GPS - look elsewhere...or perhaps to the previous model. Asus knows this is a problem and MAY come out with a physical dongle to plug into the proprietary port to POSSIBLY fix the issue. If you don't need GPS, this tablet will do just about everything else. Hard for me to give it four or five stars with such a colossal error on the part of Asus.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
I used this tablet everyday and everyday I'm amazed at what it do and how quick it does it. I travel a lot, so I download 8 movies already to watch while either on the plane or sitting in an airport. The storage is tremendous. I used the available cloud and others I have access in order to minimize the use of my internal space. I can't notice a difference in performance. This tablet is assume in every way the service I received from B&H was outstanding.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
Video quality of the ASUS compares favorably side-by-side with the IPad 3. The IPad did load an HD video faster. The Micro SD card slot is a plus - IPad doesn't have one - but it can be difficult to insert the card correctly, and I managed to get one stuck because it allowed me to insert it wrong-side up. Power button is on the small side, but you're not likely to push it by mistake either. Sound quality is not bad for a tablet.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
I have purchased 2 Asus Transformer Primes and set them up for friends and family. The first one was a play toy with 64GB memory and the the keyboard docking station. I set it up the best I could for gaming, watching movies, and surfing the 'net. The Prime works pretty well for that and with the keyboard dock, which has extra battery & ports when connected to the tablet the extra capability has been pretty well liked. Where the Asus Prime has really shined though is with the second one purchased. The second Prime has 32GB memory and was purchased for all of the same things as the first one, but mainly as a very light, very long battery life, on the road work laptop. The second Prime will be used by an author to write while on a literary trip this summer. It's a lot less weight to carry on the trip while still having the functions of a standard laptop, and more. Also, because I added Dropbox to the tablet, every time the author connects to a WiFi hotspot the files they're working on will be backed up across several locations. This can be a distinct advantage over a USB thumbdrive, which can be lost or stolen. Overall I really like Asus Prime TF201 and give it a big thumbs up!

We use the Prime with the keyboard dock in a corporate environment. The Prime can browse our network using an usb to ethernet adapter which works flawlessly. The IPS panel on the Prime is very nice as well. The Prime itself runs great and we are very pleased with this purchase. Get it!

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
This tablet is everything I expected a tablet to be - solid, responsive and versatile.
As a person who frequently presents and speaks in public (at least weekly) for a living, I was looking for a tablet with great battery life and readability that would not only allow me to research, prepare and write my talks on, but one that would go the distance in terms of being able to use it to present and speak from also. The transformer does all this and more.
There have been reported problems with this product around wifi and GPS - I have had no problems with the wifi radio at all - range is great and there have been no connectivity issues at all. I have not and generally do not use GPS for anything and so cannot comment on this at all.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
This is a great tablet. Like the Eee PC, ASUS seems to stick with excellent hardware. I cannot really complain about the hardware at all. As for software, Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) was also immediately available as an update, and that is much nicer than previous versions. And you get access to lots of apps. Basically, this is a top-notch tablet.
There are only a few annoyances. The cover attaches on the same side as the charger. That means that, in order to flip the cover over, you need to detach the charger first and reattach it. And it lacks a USB port, if you want to attach an external keyboard or device. The software comes with a bunch of software that ASUS added. It's not a total inconvenience, but it is useless. They also added their own badly-designed keyboard layout, in addition to the normal one. It seems to be impossible to disable it normally, but it is possible to make the Android one the default. And it does run Android, which is not the most enjoyable operating system, though that's been changing lately.
Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons. Recommended.

After researching for months on what tablet would be the best for me, I concluded that the Transformer Prime was it! I came across reviews about the WIFI not being up to par,but I am happy to say that I haven't had any issues. The only downside is the availability...it was sold out everywhere for months until I finally found it but it was worth the wait! I am a graphic designer so I am using it to have my portfolio and resume and other docs on hand at any time. Of course, the awesome graphics card, super fast processor, and the fact that it can turn into a mini notebook with the dock station makes it WAY better than the IPAD.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
I put off buying a tablet for months until reviews of the ASUS Transformer Prime finally convinced me it was time. My main home computer is a desktop which is in my upstairs office. I wanted a touchscreen tablet with a good keyboard, great graphics, a USB port, and a strong battery that would provide me with access to the Internet and the ability to read and process relatively simple documents and spreadsheets. I wanted a portable device I could use in other areas of my house. This tablet does all that and more. I am still learning how it works, but after one week of daily use, I am very satisfied with this tablet AND the docking station.

Comments about ASUS 32GB Eee Pad Transformer Prime 10.1" Tablet (Amethyst Gray):
This tablet is really awesome. I had an Iconia Tab a500 before this. The inclusion of the keyboard and the extra battery life make this absolutely better in all ways. Ice Cream Sandwich is just as awesome. I recently picked up a Galaxy Nexus running ICS and was successfully able to tether this tablet via Bluetooth for ultra low power consumption while tethering compared to wifi. The keyboard is vital to this tablet. Without it the tablet may not be as superior to other options out there. I use this tablet for work. The keyboard makes using SSH, via ConnectBot, so much easier. If you're buying this for the same reason I had, ConnectBot's Google Code page has issue 459 comment 87 with a special development build for the Transformer keyboards. It allows you to use tab, shift, and control keys properly. For the gamers out there, I had purchased Sim City during the Google Market 10 cent sale. On my old tablet the game seemed particularly unplayable. The interface didn't seem designed for touch screens. With the keyboard dock the entire tablet seemed to be more of a laptop and Sim City's game play completely changed. Chrome Browser Beta is also a must. Key points to consider Chrome for Android is that Flash is no longer supported by Adobe, but Chrome implements many of the HTML5 elements that are replacing Flash. Browser still supports Flash, so you don't have totally sacrifice Flash, but Chrome for Android is amazing. It can sync your bookmarks between multiple Chrome installs. Asus brings some cool things to the notification window. I immediately didn't like the diversion from the stock notification area (which you can go in to the Asus settings and switch to a more stock feel) but I've come to like what they've done. I can from there tune the performance, set the display brightness and switch to super bright IPS mode for outdoors visibility. I also decided to give Marvel Comics a second glance. It looks like they've finally adopted Android. I've been using my tablet (and phone) to read comics. The display on the screen is stellar for the Marvel Comics app. All and all I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just want to reiterate that the keyboard really makes the difference. Remember it's detachable for situations where you don't want the added bulk.
