First day experience is excellent. Large numeric keypad, not narrow or tight like others. The space between the keys feels nice. Position of the Insert/Delete/Home/End, left Ctrl keys plus the need for addition Fn key to access the F1~12 keys on top do take some getting use to, but it's no big deal for me. Anti-glare screen is perfect.
Updated windows and leneno driver/software without any problem within an afternoon. Aside from lack of USB 3.0 and dedicated graphic card, or even a backlit keyboard this laptop is the next best thing since having those features will cost much much more. I will add 4 GB for $20 to max it out soon.
This laptop actually have description about external resolution (connecting to a large LCD monitor). This extra bit of info also added weight to my purchase decision.
Battery life indicator shows 4 hr available at 100% charge. Very minimal on the LED indicators, just a red dot on each i of the ThinkPad logos (2).
The laptop is quiet, I did not remember anything about the fan noise. The speakers are in a row in front below keyboard. Sound quality is good. At first it take some getting use to for sound to come out of the bottom front. Nice if you close the lid and listen to the music un-muffled.
Maybe its a trend, seems newer screens on laptops are getting slightly shorter. Rolling down the page is getting tedious. Maybe by 2030 15.6" diagonal LCD will be under 6" tall.

we set this machine up for a local doctors office, it is used for network access, notes, and internet
the first one I received was set up, and after several restarts it simply refused to turn on. I tried everything from reseating the battery to resetting the CMOS with no luck. the poor thing had such a short life, kind of made me sad. the second one I received has been working great though.
overall I like the performance; the trackpad feel cumbersom though and the overall feel of the machine when holding in my hands feels light... and cheap. I have always been a fan of the thinkpad series, but the edge does not stay true to the solid and rugged design of the thinkpad name.

Bought it last month and so far it's been a great experience with minor drawbacks. When I bought it, I also bought an extra 4gb of memory dim, and it is fast as.. well, it's fast!
Use it as my main desktop, and it has some power to it, I run linux as my main operating system and everything works right out of the box, no messing around with config files.
I also run sometimes 2 virtual machines on top of linux, for testing purposes along with all of my development environment programs and this puppy does it without breaking a sweat.
Great keyboard, display and construction is sturdy and I like the way it looks.
I don't really like much the touchpad, sometimes it gets stuck and it's really anoying, no usb3.0, graphics are decent, but not for gaming, battery no so great, about 3 hours on normal use.

I absoulutely love this computer! Used several Hp laptops for several years for professional and personal reasons. I don't know how this Lenova will hold up over the years but I was very disappointed that several HP's the company I work for has and my own all had screen and keyboard issues after the 3 year mark. This laptop is loaded with a great bang for the buck through B&H and I'm confident it will last more than 3 years. I would like to add that I am also very confident purchasing any item through B&H as they have always stood by products they sell.

After using the ThinkPad Edge E520 for two weeks, I am very satisfied. All functions meet or exceed my expectations. The video performance seems a bit weak, but I really don't use any apps which challenge the machines capability.

SO far I have been very happy with this laptop. I can work outside in sunlight with the matte screen. Boots up extremely fast (old laptop was an Acer 2006). Came with Windows Prof which I was pleased about. All installed options included in price made this a fantastic buy (according to my comparisons). Fast shipping. Would recommend this Lenovo and B&H Camera!!!

Primary use is for consulting trips. Weight seems less than expected. Screen is excellent. Keyboard feel is excellent. Easily set up, especially on home wireless system and internet connection. Having a bit of a problem setting up the remote printer connection but that is Windows 7 and not the computer. The camera has great sensitivity and AGC action on Skype. Basically, I love it!

loves it. It runs all her microsoft pro programs
with ease. I did a lot of research and felt it

This Lenovo E-520 1143 afu comes with a whole list of useful features. Never used bluetooth on the computer before, but it is incredibly handy for hooking up to a blackberry without any cable while on the road. I upgraded to 8 GB of ram almost immediately but the 4GB was plenty for most applications. Boots incredibly fast, the keyboard has a nice feel. Haven't spent much time with the pointer, but the touchpad works well. I love the side keypad as well.
They have reversed the function keys from most laptops. You have to press the function key to activate the f1--f12 keys now but that allows diret access to many of the other features such as volume, brightness, camera, wireless, etc.
Fingerprint reader works well so far. I really don't have a bad thing to say after using it a lot for a couple of weeks now. I guess the one little thing is the rubber surface tends to show oily finger and palm prints, but if that is the only downside I don't think you can go wrong with this unit.
