Photo Essentials 4 from onOne Software is an exceptional program that brings together five tools designed to maximize your experience within Adobe Photoshop Elements. Each of these tools features enhancements not found in Photo Essentials 3.

With Photo Essentials 4, the five tools you receive are Make It Better, Cut It Out, Make It Cool, Frame It, and Enlarge It. Make It Better provides you with quick brightness, color, and contrast correction. It also provides side-by-side before/after previews of the image that you are tweaking. Cut It Out allows you to remove unwanted backgrounds easily, painlessly, and seamlessly. It lets you paint away parts of a background so that small details like hair or or the mesh from a wedding veil remain. Make It Cool provides a library of nearly 100 effects for putting a spin on your photos. That library includes vintage looks, classic film looks, camera filters effects, certain darkroom techniques, like sepia toning, and more. Plus, you can stack multiple effects on top of each other. As a means to "finish" your photos, Frame It lets you add realistic film and darkroom edges and border effects to your images. You can also add artistic borders as well. Finally, Enlarge It lets you resize your images up to four times and still maintain sharp edges and small details. You can also choose from over sixty built-in document size presets for cropping in one simple step. While you can print in these document sizes, you can also notably create poster-sized prints and gallery-prints. Photo Essentials 4 operates as a plug-in within Adobe Photoshop Elements 8, 9, and 10.

What's New in Photo Essentials

Masking Tools in Make It Cool
With the new masking tools, the Masking Bug and Masking Brush in Make It Cool, you are in complete control of how each effect is applied. The Masking Brush lets you paint each effect in or out. For example, you can paint in a skin smoothing effect to retouch a portrait without softening the rest of the image. The new Masking Bug lets you create round or square gradient effects. It's perfect for adding vignettes or darkening the sky
Vintage Effects in Make It Cool
All the rage now, the new vintage effects in Make It Cool give your images the hip, old school look. In a single click you can turn back time, add a texture and even a border
Design Elements in Frame It
Frame It includes tons of new design elements including complete layouts, backgrounds, textures and adornments. These include the new Bohemian and Whimsy categories perfect for scrapbooking
Paint-In effects in Make It Cool
The new paint-in effects in Make It Cool give you a collection of everyday-use tools to selectively lighten, darken, and increase color, contrast or dynamic range. Use them as a fast way to optimize your image before you add effects
Any Size Made Easy in Enlarge It
Have you ever tried making an 8x10 print from your digital camera file? You can't get it to fit that 8x10 size-it's either 8x12 or 7x10-because most digital camera sensors are a different aspect ratio from common paper sizes. This forces you to crop your image to get it to fit a specific paper size, and it can be difficult to determine how to do this and whether to do it before or after you resize the image. Enlarge It comes to the rescue with over sixty built-in document size presets that allow you to precisely crop and resize your image in one simple step
Titling in Enlarge It
Now you can get large format printing from a small format printer, quickly and easily. The new Tiling feature divides an enlargement into smaller pieces, preparing it for printing on a standard-sized printer. Just specify the paper size and overlap option and Enlarge It will automatically resize the image and create individual tiles that are ready for printing
Gallery Wrap in Enlarge It
When making enlargements for canvas, it is common to wrap a portion of the image around the wooden stretcher bars, creating a gallery wrap. However, when wrapping an image in this way, important detail can be lost near the edges. The updated Gallery Wrap feature in Enlarge It automatically creates extended margins by reflecting or stretching the areas near the edge of the image allowing you to create a gallery wrap without sacrificing any of the original image
