ASUS U36SD-DH51 13.3" Notebook Computer (Black)
The U36SD-DH51 13.3" Notebook Computer (Black) from ASUS is a compact notebook computer with a streamlined aluminum chassis. The system is built with portability in mind -- it is less than an inch thin when closed, and weighs a scant 3.7 pounds. What's more, it can run for up to 9 hours on a single charge thanks to an 8-cell battery and the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine power management system.
Graphics are handled by the nVIDIA/Intel hybrid system that aims to balance high-performance with energy-conservation. The computer uses a dedicated nVIDIA GeForce GT 520M GPU with 1GB of memory when processing more demanding visual content, such as for games, graphics applications, or HD video. When the notebook isn't processing more demanding visuals, it switches to the integrated Intel GMA HD GPU, which requires less battery power and won't sap your battery life.
The computer is powered by a dual-core 2.66GHz Intel Core i5-2430M processor, which can be overclocked to 3GHz via the Intel Turbo Boost Technology. It boasts 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 640GB hard drive with a speed of 5400rpm. For wired or wireless communication, it has a Gigabit Ethernet port and supports Bluetooth 3.0 as well as 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. For connecting external displays, it features an HDMI port and a VGA port. For connecting peripherals, it features one speedy USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. An integrated card reader supports five different flash card formats, if you need to transfer files from your camera or camcorder. Plus, for added multimedia fun, there's an integrated pair of stereo speakers, a webcam, and a microphone. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.
