I've tried over and over to find fault in this device. The processor seems impossible to overload, the screen resolution and audio are impeccable for a notebook. The blu ray played right out of the box without installing drivers, and thers is limited to almost zero intrusive bloatware to filter through. This device handles everything from basic computing hardcore gaming with surprising ease and without becoming hot. For the money it would be hard to find a better all-around notebook that would rival this ASUS in performance. Factory warranties are more than adequate. The higher end processor and external port options i.e. HDMI, 3.0,and bluetooth help ensure that this machine won't soon be outdated.

I am someone who does a lot of research before buying a laptop..before buying this one i have looked at Sony Vaio, Apple, Lenovo and Acer Laptops..but comparing price to performance this laptops beats all the others..yes it might not look as good as an mac book air but it sure dont look bad either..when i first bought this laptop i thought it was going to be very heavy..but turns out its not heavy and it is slimmer then i thought..its wide because it has a 15.6 inch screen..but this laptop is portable..however i purchased this laptop on another configuration..8 GB ram 2 GB Nvidia Graphics and I7 Quad Core..the only downside to the laptop is where the laptop charging port is located on the laptop, at the back..overall i have to say buying this laptop is a very good descion i made..i'd recommend this to everyone..

I'm really happy with my purchase. I spent a lot of time researching the laptop I need for school and home business. I had a hard time locating a retailer, bought it somewhere else first and the order was canceled because product was out of stock. B&H shipped exactly as promised as well as calling to personally check the order. Also, they gave a great price.
Yesterday, I opened about 4 web pages, each with a dozen or so open tabs so I could work while away from internet access. I didn't lose any tabs when reaching my location and waking up the computer. Some of the open tabs were 100+ page research papers.
Runs fast, quiet and cool.
Some people complain about the keyboard, I've had no issues and it is sturdy with out flex that I notice.

This laptop is used for blu-ray playback, remote desktop access and Office 2010 use. It's fast as as Heck, responsive and the 1920 x 1080 resolution is pristine to say the least. Keyboard layout is just right if not perfect and all others saying it has an "odd layout" are nonsensical. Even the spacebar is special in that it requires half a press compared to the other keys. One teeny tiny minor complaint.......where the power cord is located. It's on the back but making the adjustment to that is easy.

Comments about ASUS N53SV-DH72 15.6" Notebook Computer (Silver):
I use this laptop for a little bit of everything: MS Office work, web browsing, scripting/coding, gaming (World of Warcraft), streaming online media, and playing Blu Ray discs. Overall, it's a great laptop.
The laptop doesn't get hot when gaming. It does push out a lot of very hot air out of the vents though so make sure not to plug them up. World of Warcraft runs great on it with most of the settings maxed out. More graphics intensive games do not run well at max settings, but the settings don't have to be lowered so much that the game's not enjoyable to play either. The picture quality when streaming media (with a good internet connection of course) or Blu Ray movies is fantastic, and Blu Ray disc load times are very quick. The keyboard layout is very similar to a typical desktop keyboard, and thanks to the size of the laptop, the keys aren't all "squished" in. This is my first laptop so, as a veteran desktop user, this is definitely a plus. Battery life is subjective, but as long as you're not doing anything too intensive on the system, it lasts quite a while (>4 hours).
It came with some bloatware on it, but a lot less than other vendor systems I've seen.
The only thing I don't like, and the reason for it only getting 4 stars, is nVidia Optimus. This is the technology that switches back and forth automatically between the on-board graphics chip (Intel) and the discreet chip (nVidia). From everything I've read, it's supposed to do this seamlessly and switch automatically based on the load of the GPU. However, I have found that to not be the case at all. Thankfully there's a workaround in that you can set which GPU you want a specific program to use in the nVidia driver control panel. Also, there is no way to disable the Intel GPU in the BIOS which breaks the functionality of some apps that require High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). For example, DirecTV2PC (app from DirecTV that streams video recorded on your DirecTV DVR to your PC) will not run properly. Using the Intel GPU, it displays a green screen with the audio running. Using the nVidia GPU, it errors out that the GPU isn't HDCP compliant (according to nVidia, the GT 540 GPU is HDCP compliant). While annoying, it's definitely not a deal breaker though.

Looked all over the web for this model and everyone was sold out, and everyone elses prices were higher. Ran across B&H, never heard of them b4, was skeptical ordering online from someplace in NY, talked with customer service, they had the item in stock and would ship that day so I "placed my order"! Received the UPS tracking # and not long after.... the laptop arrived just as they told me it would. Could not have had a smoother transaction!! My model has the power plug in the back of the laptop, which I am happy about. Never had a no glare screen b4, and am very much liking it. The only negative so far is the inside bezel around the screen is a softer plastic and I did scratch it with my rough/dry thumb, other than that, have had for two weeks, and could not be happier!!
