International orders*The Samsung SRD-852D H.264 Digital Video Recorder (8-channel, 1 TB) with its real-time digital video recording (200 fps) and playback capabilities, is ideal for home and industrial security installations.
The DVR can be flexibly set to record in various modes such as manual, continuous and event, as per the demands of your surveillance environment. The SRD-852D supports BNC and VGA output formats, which are H.264 compressed to reduce video file size without compromising on image integrity and network resources. Moreover, ADPCM audio compression optimizes the usage of the disk space available by ensuring high-quality, lossless audio recordings and small file sizes. A watermarking feature authenticates recorded data, thus thwarting any attempts to tamper with or replicate footage.
Multiple search options such as time, event, backup, POS and motion detection make it easy for you to search through the recorded footage, ensuring high efficiency in time-bound activities.
The SRD-852D ships with a 1 TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and is capable of supporting up to 4 internal HDDs for archiving or storing footage. Data can be archived on mass storage HDDs at high speeds via 2 USB 2.0 ports or on DVDs using the built-in DVD writer.
Setting up a remote connection is easy thanks to the DDNS service the recorder offers. Integrated Webviewer and SmartViewer softwares enable remote monitoring via the Internet. Android and IOS enabled smartphones can also be used to monitor footage from a distance.

Comments about Samsung SRD-852D H.264 Digital Video Recorder (8-channel, 1 TB):
Used as a home security DVR, remote web viewing and email alerts for motion detection on my property while I'm away.
It's large unit comes with 19'' rack ears. one 80mm side output fan..not noisy but noticeable in a quiet office. Like that I can put my own drives in but the 1TB takes 2 of the 4 sata ports (2 x 500GB).
User manual it just obvious facts and glosses over details.
Updated to latest firmware by burning a DVD and loading it from the menu system (easy).
I have a problem with the motion detection feature and samsung support did not respond to email contact, I think their security branch is a seperate group in the company and not up to the usuall Samsung quality.
The motion detection email feature does not conform to the alarm schedule on the menu system. So you can set alarms to only be active while you are away from home. But the motion email are 24/7/365 so I get hundreds of email of me at my house...
I did manage to work around the motion problem - If you have motion trigger/close and alarm contact and you wire that alarm contact to a sensor contact and have the sensor trigger an email.... the sensor email does conform to the schedule you can set. there is no mention in the manual about motion schedule or any thing useful.
I have the smart viewer software working on a wired ethernet connected Win 7 box but the wifi Win 7 box would not connect ("network error") I've been a network engineering for 17 years... there's no reason this @#$!* app should not work.
Like the android "iPolis" app (on Samsun Galaxy S2 skyrocket, 2.3.5 gingerbread.UCKJ2)
I'm running the web server on port 8000 to by pass my ISP restrictions on port 80 (HTTP), which works from IE but no chrome. The firefox browser in android conencts and logs in but then shows and error that says the DVR is telling me to switch to port 80 and tcp 4505 to 4530 tcp . That's over wifi local to the DVR so maybe I'll switch to port translation and set the DVR back to 80tcp.
I haven't measured it yet but seams that when viewing several cameras at once from a remote site the DVR sends full res video for each small tile , when it should have a small feed for that purpose to help bandwidth.
Over all not worth the money, you're better off with a lower end unit for home use.
