Comments about CAD HA4 Compact 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:
Well I guess I should have learned from past "cheap" products. I was looking for an inexpensive headphone amp. I saw some reviews from other manufacturers that weren't real favorable. Then I came across this unit. CAD...hey they seem to have a pretty good reputation. I bet this is a pretty good and well made unit. Out of the box, it looks good. I proceeded to turn the volume pots and then the quality showed. Now, I've had some real garbage electronic units in my lifetime, but I have to say, these pots are the worst ones I have ever seen! They were stiff, wobbly, the center detent on channel one was off.(I ended up pulling on the knob the seat the pot back into it's pivot axis,as it was crooked) Does the unit work? Yes it does. Will it hold up for years? Who knows. Judging from my initial opinion of the pots, I doubt it. I sent an email describing the issue/concern to CAD...no response. So much for customer service. First and last CAD purchase for me. Maybe I just got a bad unit...or as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I guess I did.
