Comments about Samsung 830 Series SSD with Internal Desktop Kit and Norton Ghost 15 (64GB):
Drive is smokin' fast, very excellent performance for read and write.
Installed one in 2012 MacBook Pro for a noticeable useful-speed increase in regards to booting, sleeping, shutting down, and starting apps.
Installed a second one in older Gateway desktop using the supplied desktop kit, which was a disappointment. I chose this brand/model of SSD based upon performance expectations, and was pleased. However, the supplied desktop 3.5" adapter was obviously a cheap afterthought and did not fit the bays in my Gateway E-4500 desktop as I expected it would.
Also, the included copy of Norton Ghost was a pleasant plus, until I rec'd the drive and tried to use it. Symantec has de-powered Ghost to the point that it can ***NOT*** clone a Windows boot drive - which is the only reason I tried to use it when I was upgrading my desktop boot drive to this speedy Samsung.
Spent ~6 hours trying to figure out why my drive clone would not boot only to find out that Ghost does not properly copy the Master Boot Record, thereby preventing Windows XP from seeing the Samsung 830 as a valid boot drive.
Overall - drive is an outstanding performer in both a new laptop and older desktop applications. Noticeably faster during everyday use in both. Simple and easy install for Mac OSX w/o any problems.
Samsung has continued to make great electronics products and I look forward to further upgrades with this brand as I replace aging components in our homes 6 computers. Just dont expect much from the "accessories" they include and be prepared to do your homework before installing, as should be expected when working inside computers.

Comments about Samsung 830 Series SSD with Internal Desktop Kit and Norton Ghost 15 (64GB):
I'm very happy with my Samsung 830-series SSD (64 GB) so far. Extremely fast speeds (460/160+ read/write {sequential}, 7.9 WEI), with read speeds especially rivaling the best. Installed into my desktop fairly easily (cleanly installed Windows 7, did not migrate using supplied Norton Ghost). Mounted to supplied 2.5" to 3.5" adapter fine (rubber spacers ideal, not included), althought the mount's screw holes are smaller than the usual HDD mount screws, thus had to improvise to fit it in my case (Antec P180). Looks nice and feels durable, albeit a bit different than promo pictures (no logo on mount, orange accent differs, etc). Unimaginably small, thin and lightweight, more so than competitors. Respectable software, with many available optimizations, benchmarks and even firmware updates, over-provisioning and secure erase. Samsung seem to have done everything right, and time will tell if their SSDs (continue to) rise above the pack. Almost guaranteed to be more reliable than many competitors (e.g. SandForce driven, OCZ, Corsair).
