The 256GB 830 Series SSD with Internal Desktop Kit and Norton Ghost 15 from Samsung provides you with a fast solid state drive and a kit for installing it in your desktop computer. This drive enables you to boot up your computer in as little as 15 seconds and is well suited for everyday computing tasks like web surfing or playing PC games. In addition, the Norton Ghost software is included so that you can easily transfer files from your old drive to this solid state drive.
Like other solid state drives, this drive has no moving parts, resulting in improved reliability and data protection when compared with traditional hard drives. It features the speedy SATA 6Gbps interface, a storage capacity of 256GB, and is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.

Awesome SSD! The hard drive was an upgrade for an existing hard drive in a 2008 MacBook. The differences are night and day. I install a fresh copy of OX X Lion on it and the laptop boots within 5-8 seconds! I am logged into the laptop within 15! No noise is emitted from my laptop now. The battery life is about 10% better. I recently bought a new battery, so I get about 135 minutes of video play in iTunes before the laptop runs out of battery life. When I am doing general web usage the battery life is 4+ hours! The only down side is the price, but otherwise the SSD drive is awesome!

Bought two drives for RAID0 in an Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard.
Used the 2 Intel SATA 6GB/s Ports (Red)
Did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional.
Once everything was loaded I ran AnvilPro benchmark utility
and got over 1GB/s sequential read speeds! I was shocked!
Updating firmware on the 2 drives wasn't difficult at all.
The samsung software that comes with the drives wont work on RAID'ed drives...
And i have to say that Norton Ghost 15 is a terrible TERRIBLE software bundle! (Ghost 15 isnt even cabable of cloning disk to disk)
Overall, I'm very impressed with the drives and I purchased from B&H because they had the drive cheaper than anywhere else!

This is my first SSD. I installed it without trouble on a new windows 7 system I built with ASUS p8z68-v-pro motherboard. It came with the CXM02B1Q firmware installed, which is not the latest firmware at this time (CXM03B1Q is), but according to the samsung docs the only change was for the firmware update process. So I did not upgrade the firmware. I have not had any BSOD, including waking from sleep.
Note the 3.5" adapter had the fine pitch thread screws, and for some cases with custom drive mounting schemes, like my antec p180, the adapter was not compatible without modification.
After installing the intel storage drivers, and using the samsung magician to tune the drive and OS settings, all of which is really dead simple, the benchmark results are excellent (I just used the benchmarks in the magician software) and are as expected.
The magician software recommends a 24GB partition for overprovisioning, so I have left an unformatted partition of this size - I have seen debate about what "overprovisioning" means but this is how samsung defines it. So the usable capacity of the drive is reduced by this amount, about 10%, so you may want to plan ahead for this when installing windows. The magician can shrink partitions but I didn't try it.
I chose this drive because of the reputation for reliability, it was down to this or the crucial M4, but the reviews show this drive to have slightly better performance (probably not very noticable in actual use), and it had the batman game thrown in. The new intel sandforce based drive just came out, it may be reliable but the price is not competitive right now.
I use my windows box for gaming. It is very snappy.

Super-fast and easy to install. I was doing a fresh install of Windows, so it was no big deal. But, it was easier to install than the OCZ I've been using. And this thing is amazingly small, super-quiet and boots up fast. Access to it while working is very fast. To get the most out of it, make sure you have a motherboard that supports SATA3 and use the 6g/s cables they give you with the product.
I've only been using it a week, but have seen nothing to indicate any problems.

Installed this in the empty optical drive on my 2010 Mac Pro using a mount from OWC. Using this exclusively for my sampled instrument library. Large patches are loading at an average of about 200 MB/s and playback has been drastically improved. Performance is truly amazing and everything has been very stable so far.
I did quite a bit of research to find a SSD that had speed, stability, and reliability - so far, this one hasn't disappointed.
