I use this with a Panasonic AF-100 on a Proaim baseplate. Considered a competing product from Ikan but ultimately felt like this would provide a broader, more stable base. Works great with Sony and Panasonic professional tripod plates, of which I have several...so for the price, it allows me to quick-mount the camera on multiple tripod heads without a lot of additional cost or adaptors.
I still have a hard time believing the prices of plates like this considering the materials probably cost $20 and they're machined using computer driven devices, but this is one of the cheaper solutions out there and it's solid (metal), well-made, and easily adaptable to fit many cameras.
