Does the job, the case needs to be stretched for before you can easily pull cards in and out with out damaging the foam core. I hear the older cases had a better foam that did not need stretching but this one works fine if you do the prep. I fitted mine with 6 cards and left it for a week and the case works great. Other wise it is well built.

I have (2) of the previous model 0940 Pelican Memory card cases. They were built fabulously. Very sturdy, strong construction. These have TERRIBLE foam instead of rubber like the old ones. Trying to put your card in is a job in and of itself each time. The old ones are so much better. I am terribly disappointed with Pelican's move to lower quality, cheap cases as this. Makes me leery to purchase further cases from them.

The only reason that I didnt give it 5 stars is because i had the hardest time opening it. I had to use a blunt object to leverage it open, for a few days i practiced openging over and over again. I was finally able to open it unaided, not sure if its because I loosened the seal or my hand just got stronger. Other than that it is fantastic!

I owned the previous version of Pelican memory card case. I don't recall the model number but it only held four CF cards. I decided that I needed a larger card case and saw this new product from Pelican. It was a no-brainer to buy this since I was thrilled by the quality of the previous Pelican case.

Upon receiving this case, before I even opened it, it was notable that the manufacturing of this case is sub-standard in comparison to the previous model. The plastic is cheaper, the finish is not as good, and it doesn't feel robust in the hand. But that is the good part.

Clearly, no-one at Pelican beta tested this thing or they would never have approved it. The foam inside is too soft and flexible. Because of this, there is no easy way to insert your card into the provided spaces. The edges of the card bites into and crushes the foam edges and the card doesn't lock into place.

Really, this is such an oversight, it is almost an insult to the good name of Pelican.

The previous version of this case has the perfect hard-foam inserts to hold the cards securely, easily insert and remove the cards.

This is definitely a sturdy case and it makes me feel good to put my hards in it. The only downside I can see so far, is that its a little difficult to open (good and bad I guess).

You have to use the cards alone, not with their individual cases ...
BUT since I have a bunch with larger plastic than they used to have , they didn't fit in my old pack anyway.
I believe someone else commented that it has a full length metal hinge .. it does NOT ... still seems pretty solid to me though

I own 3 of the Pelican 0940 4 card memory card cases. They are fantastic. If you need carefree protection for your compactflash cards, this is an excellent product.

Works well, seems pretty indestructable. Only issue is getting cards properly fitted into the spaces, the edge tends to go under the card and then they'll pop out. I expect this will improve with use. Pelican makes solid products.

I really like this case as I can carry 6 CF cards in it, it is also very waterproof which is a good thing when shooting in the smoky mtns nat park in all weather year round. Iti s well constructed and I can see this as a product that will be in my arsenal of equipment for a long time.

I own the previous 0940 Pelican case w/4 CF slots and loved everything about it. Then I went to buy another one and ran into the 0945 which had 6 CF slots and claimed to replace the 0940 so I just went ahead and purchased that one thinking it was better and it was the exact opposite. For starters the case just seems like a knock off of the real deal. Cheap feeling plastic exterior and the material used to hold the CF cards is some kind of cheap foam. When I try to put more than 1 card in next to each other the foam bends and I have to pick it back out with my finger nail. If I could only mention one complaint it would by far be how freaking hard it is to open the case. The only good thing about this case is that it is water resistant. I found some 0940 still around if you just run a search online. I will be returning the 0945 as soon as possible.

If I could rate it a ZERO I would. First, I am full time wedding photographer, and have used Pelican products for years. I love the security, their cases provide... I currently have the "older" style cases (fits only 4 CF cards per case). THIS CASE IS THE BEST ONE, BUT IS NO LONGER MADE. The new case, is HORRID. First, it looks and feels so cheap. I mean, no where NEAR the quality of the older one. Not even close. Second, it is next to impossible to open it. We have to keep a "pry bar" yes a PRY BAR in our camera case to open them! Third, the inside is a JOKE. It is made of a cheap foam, that after two uses already becomes "stertched out" and no longer hold the same form factor. The older one was hard rubber, and was perfect.The quality has completely changed.. and as soon as my replacement cases (the older ones I found on [@]) come it.. I am sending them back to BH for a refund... DO NOT BUY!

Seems watertight, although it's not described as such. Holds the media very tightly in the high density foam.

I bought this to house my CF cards I now have for my 7D and it works great! I have a Lowe Pro case I use for my SD cards and I opted for this one based on Pelican's reputation for making bullet proof kit. I have no problems with the Lowe Pro, however the build construction and weather proofing cant compare to the this Pelican.
