Comments about LG Electronics Internal SATA 12x Blu-Ray DVD Writer:
I just assembled a new computer and bought this LG Blu-Ray drive in first place to install from the Windows 7 64-bit DVD.
The drive is very easy to install, has good and very well aligned screw holes and a nice black piano finish at the front.
The Windows Install went very fast.
The LightScribe function is terrific and accurate for labeling your discs collections or backups.
I already capture a good set of Music CDs into my iTunes library, installed software from CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs, made a backup on Blu-Ray RW, all works pretty fine.
And as a big bonus this LG drive is Blu-Ray 3D capable with great Blu-Ray full HD image definition.
Since this is the retail version ( not OEM ) it came with good software to get you started. A basic program suite from CyberLink to copy or backup data to discs, a full version ( not trail ) of PowerDVD 9.0 and a few extras I do not use.
I am very happy with the drive. The only small con I could have is that at full speed the drive is a bit noisy, but that is to same degree true for all this modern and fast disc drives.
I really recommend this LG Blu-Ray drive, it has a fair price, great performance, is good looking and came with useful software for basic work.
Hope this helps.
