The black ACPRO1800 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack from Ape Case may be small in stature but it's sure large on function. Within its 14.0 x 15.0 x 9.0" (35.6 x 38.1 x 22.9 cm) frame is a backpack that will hold enough gear to keep you going for a long time. The interior is rated to hold your DSLR with a 70-200 f/2.8 attached as well as another 4-5 lenses, accessories as well as your 10.1" Laptop (25.7 cm) laptop held in its own padded and secured compartment. This pack would also accommodate an iPad in the computer compartment (instead of a laptop).A touch fastened tab holds the laptop in place. However, it doesn't stop there. Zippered storage compartments can be used for small stuff like filters, cables, adapters and memory cards.
The bag is made with a tough water-resistant nylon exterior and also comes with a built-in, pull out rain cover that can be rapidly deployed when you're caught in a rain storm. An adjustable harness system allows the bag to be tailored to your body and the sternum strap keeps it balanced while walking.
Inside, there are multiple movable Hi Vis yellow dividers that can be configured to fit your gear and that also help illuminate the interior when in low light. As mentioned, there's a separate computer compartment as well as a large mesh accessory pocket for filters, maps, cleaning cloths or business cards. That is complimented by another cleverly placed zippered pocket within the back flap. Inside that area you can store more accessories like cables, pens and adapters.
For the nature photographer, there's a handy tripod holder comprised of a tuck-away pocket for the feet and adjustable strap for the legs. Water bottle holder and hidden cell phone slot finish off this well-priced and full-featured pack that is backed by Ape's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Comments about Ape Case ACPRO1800 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack (Black):
I was contemplating which size bag to get, the 1800 or 1900, due to the laptop size. I measured out the specs and opted for the 1800 as I felt my camera equipment was the main purpose. I received the bag, loaded up my gear, tried the bag on and it was just the right size. So glad I opted for the smaller bag, I don't think I could have hauled around one more thing it was so heavy without the computer.
The yellow inside is fabulous! I was able to fit my Canon T1i body, 50-250 lens, 100-400 lens, fish eye lens, 18-55 lens and tri-pod. There are plenty of compartments/pockets for all the little extra items. The rain cover is easy on, easy off. The tri-pod straps aren't quick release but they serve their purpose.
I attended a photography workshop 2 weeks after receiving the bag and the 2 professional photographers and I all agreed the bag was quite nice and very well made at a great price.
I am extremely happy with this product, it's the exact backpack I was looking for.

It is a small bag that is easy to carry on planes, but has enough room for all my main items I need at hand. I like the yellow dividers because they are easy to see in most lighting.

Too small for my Two D7000 bodies ( noe with battery pack, 24-70 MM, 70-200mm, 105 mm Macro, 35mm & 2x multiplyer tube. I agree with the reviews reg. laptop size. do not measure diagionly use the length & width computer measurements to help decide if it will fit your pack. I will progably buy the next large size (1900) as traveling in a plain as carry on will discourage me from buying the 2000 model.

Comments about Ape Case ACPRO1800 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack (Black):
I wanted a backpack to keep my hands free and carry my gear on all sorts of different photo taking trips. The day after that lovely UPS pkg arrived from B&H I went on a hike. Is it hiker approved! Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Stylish Design- it does not look like a camera bag to those that don't recognize the brand. This is one of the main reasons I got it. I wanted a bag that didn't scream: expensive gear inside!
2. Sturdy zippers and fabric- very well made. It was on my back for several hours with no problem.
3. Very comfortable – the chest strap really helps to balance the weight; the fabric is not rough and had amazing padding in the back…for your back
4. Multiple little compartments- perfect for sunscreen, flashlight, memory cards, food, filters, wallet, cell phone…you name it.
5. Great Padding- and I mean your camera and lenses will be SAFE! This padding is a-wesome. I thought it was a little too tight for my Sony A-500 body…but then I figure out the padding has velcro and is ADJUSTABLE. I was able to get my camera body in good after that.
6. Rain Proof- the removable rain cover is a big +
Cons:
1. Annoying Flaps over zippers. It has those big flaps of fabric over zippers that make the changes you get the zipper stuck huge. No biggie though, just fold the flaps backwards and you are good to go. Trust me: do this right away!
2. Tripod Straps- don't even think about using it. They put the holder straps at the bottom of the backpack, the closures are not study and it makes no sense having a tripod at the bottom when it will be wider than you. I used it for a quick walk and it was not good. I kept bumping into things. If you have a small monopod of one of those mini tripods it might be ok. It just didn't work for me.
3. Not enough big pockets- it has a lot of small ones but only one big one for notepads, reflectors, etc. The laptop pocket is alright- I would use it for a tablet instead of a laptop- is pretty small and narrow.
4. Where is my water bottle holder/mesh?!- I think this is a big flaw. I have no holder for my beverage of choice.
Overall is a great product and I can live with the cons. When there is no more space for my gear in it I'll definitely upgrade to the next size.

I use the back pack to store and transport a Sony A77 camera and accessories. The camera and two lenses fit and are well protected. Trying to transport the flash and vertical battery attachment presents a challenge for the bag. A larger bag is needed. A laptop cannot safely fit with my equipment. There are lots of zippers and clips which securely fasten the bag. In transport, nothing can possibly fall from the bag. To access the camera, however, there are lots of items to unfasten.

This is such a good backpack, everything about this is quality. The only drawback is the fact that there is such a small laptop container.

This backapck has been a lifesaver since adding a baby to our family. Being a backpack as opposed to a traditional camera bag or messenger style bag frees up movement. Pack has enough storage for every accessory we own with room to add more. The laptop sleeve fits our tablet nicely, and the outer pockets/straps hold keys, phones, water bottles, etc. for easy access. The only drawback is that our 15" laptop will not fit in the laptop sleeve. Other than that one thing, we are beyond happy with this purchase.

Very nice bag, well built, good padding. It is a bit small for my Nikon D300s camera body. Other than that, I have my 24-70mm lens on the camera and also store my 70-200mm lens, 50mm lens, and sb400 flash. Also has some outside pockets for misc. Has a lot of dividers to make different size compartments in the main storage area. If you don't have a lot of gear, this is a great backpack.

This is a very well made backpack at a very good price. Heavy duty zippers and well organized. I Have only had it a short while, but on my last 2 hikes have found it very comfortable. The only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is for the tripod straps. They are difficult to tighten and don't hold well. I'm going to replace them (they are replaceable)with quick release ones and then it should be 5 stars +

Just barely fits all my gear. D200 with 50mm lens fits nicely, but with wide angle or telephoto 18-200 mm attached without the hood a little tight. However, I configured it to hold 3 spare lenses, the D200 with a lens attached, SB 700 flash and my JVC Viero Camcorder. Side pouches hold my spare batteries and chargers. I keep my lens hoods in the top compartment.

Well constructed and sturdy. Oozes quality...zippers particularly strong and shielded to keep out rain. Like the front chest strap to ease shoulder load. Good Job on this one!
