The black ACPRO4000 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack from Ape Case may be small in stature but it's sure large on function. Within its 15.4 x 19.25 x 10.1" (39.1 x 48.9 x 25.7 cm frame is a backpack that will hold enough gear to keep you going for a long time. The interior is rated to hold your DSLR with a 70-200 f/2.8 attached as well as another 4-5 lenses, accessories as well as your 16.0" Laptop (40.6 cm) laptop held in its own padded and secured compartment. A touch fastened tab holds the laptop in place. However, it doesn't stop there. Zippered storage compartments can be used for small stuff like filters, cables, adapters and memory cards.
The bag is made with a tough water-resistant nylon exterior and also comes with a built-in, pull out rain cover that can be rapidly deployed when you're caught in a rain storm. An adjustable harness system allows the bag to be tailored to your body and the sternum strap keeps it balanced while walking.
Inside, there are multiple movable Hi Vis Yellow dividers that can be configured to fit your gear and that also help illuminate the interior when in low light. As mentioned, there's a separate computer compartment as well as a large mesh accessory pocket for filters, maps, cleaning cloths or business cards. That is complimented by another cleverly placed zippered pocket within the back flap. Inside that area you can store more accessories like cables, pens and adapters.
A real neat feature to this backpack are the dual wheels that retract underneath the bag, held in place by a strong tab system. When deployed, the wheels extend outward and are supported by a pop out retractable pull handle for easy navigation through airports and parking lots. The pull out wheels also act as a stand that holds the pack up vertically when stationary.
For the nature photographer, there's a handy tripod holder comprised of a tuck-away pocket for the feet and adjustable strap for the legs. Water bottle holder and hidden cell phone slot finish off this well-priced and full-featured pack that is backed by Ape's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Holds all my gear, from cameras to lenses to laptops...but gets heavy quickly. Thank goodness for the wheels, which work great. However, the many zippers can make finding your stuff quickly quite challenging. The zippers are well hidden, tough to access at times...which I guess you could say enhances security.

The back pack is great,it has everything i nees and more.a back pack and a rolling pack. great !i love it for its multiple compartments, wich will obviously protect equipment, however, i bought it specially for traveling and to my surprice it did not fit on the airplane´s overhead compartment, I had to pull out the inside section which had my camara and lenses and place both packs separatelly, obviously by looking at it i assumed it would fit.

Used for carrying my equipment when travelling, the Ape case will accomodate a lot of equipment.
I have two digital SLRs and a number of lenses plus other ancillaries and it all goes in with space to spare. The wheels roll easily and provide a welcome rest from carrying a rucksack.
The case seems well made and strongly constructed.
It will just fit in overhead lockers on schedule long haul aircraft but not on commuter or short haul such as Delta in the USA. Overall I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it.

This bag beats the quality = price barier. I was hesitant but after the reviews I took the plunge and scored high on the dive. It was a good feeling telling the wife the truth on price paid for this piece of camera equipment.

I purchased this roller backpack just 3 weeks ago and I have absolutely no buyer's remorse. Prior to this purchase I had three other bags/cases/backpacks. I would try to anticipate what I needed on a shoot and invariably, I would "guess" wrong. I didn't bring my macro lens or I left the flash at home or my set of filters were forgotten. I was able to put 99% of my camera equipment in this one, well made, durable and well designed roller backpack. The rollers are heavy duty, the retractable handle has a good feel, and it is laid out in such a way that I can put my fingers on any item in less than 10 seconds. I will still use a smaller sling bag after I get on site but I will keep all of my equipment very close (locked in trunk of my car) on every shoot.
Finally, I can now enjoy photography, knowing that I always have everything that I need right at hand

First it is well made and will protect your gear.
Many configurable options.
I carry a gripped DSLR, wide, mid, and long zooms (all f2.8), several large speedlights, and the gadgets, gizmos, filters, flash head soft boxes, folding reflectors, etc. most would ever need along w/ are decent tripod.
If you needed more, your shoot would need an assistant and a 2nd case would be all that one would likely need outside of a full blown Hollywood video shoot.
For traveling shoots you can either attach you luggage to it or vice versa - very flexible.
However, it is not a sling or walk around pack, it is for getting your gear to and from.

I did some research for a nice DSL/Video roller bag and finally decided to buy this one. I thought that I had made a wise decision in buying this bag for the money. It fits well a pro-camera body with 70200 lens or a pro-video cam still leaving extra space for 3-4 lenses! Design and construction wise, it is very decent. The greatest thing I like is the detachable roller! The bag is good for storing your photo/video equipment and carrying (limited) them as well.

I travel a lot for business and never leave home without my camera, however, carrying a bulky camera bag and Laptop bag are cumbersome until I found this. It seemed to be just what I was looking for, and now that I have it, it is perfect. With additional pockets for files and being able to move the sections to the size I want for my camera, lenses and other paraphernalia it couldn't be better. It is sturdy, made of a good strong material and the wheels provide a smooth roll. Only downside is that it doesn't fit in all overhead bins on flights as it is just a little too deep so have to remove the Laptop sometimes.

I have a Canon 7D and and 5D Mark ii, 70-200, 24-70, 55, 18-200 lens. Everything fits, I am a petite female under 5 foot tall, so trying to carry ALL my stuff, is very hard, I love that it has wheels. I feel like a flight attendant. I was surprised at the quality of the bag.

Apecase4000 review, I held off on the apecase4000 review until I had a chance to really try it out on a cross country trip with a tight transfer in Atlanta airport. Let's start at the beginning, what did it hold for me, 1 full size DSLR, 1 medium large zoom, 1 medium fixed focal length lens, 1 full set of macro rings, 1 large sunpak flash, 1 small bower slave flash, 1 medium large hand held video camera, 1 4/3rds Olympus E-PL1, 1 small fixed focal length 4/3rds lens, All the above the chargers, with cords, a few filters, a medium size table top tripod, a small gorilla tripod, 1 15.6 inch laptop with charger, wallet camera and flash manuals, a few USB cords and flash drives, a few small personal items, umbrella, eyeglasses.
Well if that doesn't sound like much let me add that the inner camera equipment storage area is double padded with big padded Velcro dividers and I believe I had room for a couple more things if I want for exmple two more medium size lenses or whatever.
So how did it go. I felt like the back pack was pretty heavy but I tried it on. I could pack it on my back for a few hundred yards if I had to but I didn't. I depended on the rollerbladers wheels which share one long common steel axle. They run smooth as butter. I really wouldn't want to try a laptop bigger than my 15.6" which was comfortable, I believe they specify that it can fit a 17" laptop. The Apecase has a big fold over top flap that fits very nicely and snugly over the top of the pack. Unbuckling this flap reveals the zippered padded laptop pocket so you can get at the laptop if you want to boingo around at the airport without having to break into the double padded photo equipment compartment. But if you need to quickly pull out the DSLR two zippers under the flap it rides at the top of the pack so you can grab it out without having to digging to deep.
How did it fly? Once inside the group 3 of the coach cabin the pack rolls down the aisle with less than a 1/4" to spare due to the side pockets but because they are low on the pack they squeeze thru rolling right down the aisle. Now can I get this Apecase into the overhead compartment? Yes! But not easy, it seems at least for Delta Airlines (I did say the transfer was in Atlanta right) the height of the overhead bin is 14" this is a very tight fit for the Apecase. But I pushed and I pushed and I pushed and squeezed it in. Perhaps I could be a little more efficient with the outer pockets next time but all in all a great success.
Finally there is a pull out kickstand that keeps it from toppling over when you park it upright even with another carry on hung over the extended handle. Just to add in there were some buckles on the side for a full size tripod or a yoga mat I suppose that I didn't use. That's it.

I haven't really used it these days but I'd use it for my on location shoots. It's quite roomy and allows me to carry my all four speed lights and some other lenses in one case since I don't own big lenses like 300mm, 400mm...etc, and the wheels would be awesome for me when I am out there shooting with light stands. I don't have to carry all the stuff with my shoulders and get exhausted.
The quality somehow looks cheap but good for the price.

Comments about Ape Case ACPRO4000 Digital SLR and Laptop Roller Backpack (Black):
I purchased this rolling backpack for my wife as a Christmas gift who is currently getting her own photography business started and she does a lot of on location shoots. This bag proved to be extremely useful in not only accommodating all her gear but also in transporting it. At first glance the bag presents very well, it presents professional, handsome, and sturdy. It is also very flexible in accommodating all my wife's gear, 2 Canon 5Ds with the lenses on, 2 flashes, an assortment of lenses and other misc. gear and room left over for a water bottle and laptop. The bag was very flexible with its re-position-able dividers for almost any combination you can imagine and its ease of transport by either rolling it with its retractable handle and large smooth rolling wheels, this bag rolls like a dream. It also quickly converts to a backpack with sturdy, fully adjustable and well padded comfortable straps, however due to its abbility to carry so much you can quickly find yourself weighing this pack down to the point that it is not comfortable to carry on your back for extended periods. This bag is very well padded to protect your gear, the hi visibility yellow interior makes it easy to find even the smallest of items. In our opinion this bag is very well constructed of hi quality materials, good looking, and extremely flexible all at an affordable price. We are very pleased with having purchased this bag and would do so again, and probably purchase other products from this brand.
