The ThinkPad Edge E520 15.6" Notebook Computer (Midnight Black) from Lenovo takes the no-nonsense, business-oriented side of Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks and adds a touch of personality for customer-facing roles in small- to medium-sized businesses. The result is a slimmed down 15" notebook computer that weighs just 5.2 pounds. This Lenovo notebook is also wrapped in a refined, soft matte coating and a sleek Midnight Black finish.
The 15.6" widescreen display features LED lamps, which brighten faster, use less power and provide better image quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is also the standard for HDTVs. The 1366 x 768 native resolution is supported by integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics. The anti-glare coating allows you to use this Lenovo notebook in bright rooms or outdoors in the sunlight.
The system is powered by a dual-core 2.3GHz Intel Core i3-2350M processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB 7200rpm hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an integrated 720p HD webcam and microphone as well as built-in stereo speakers. Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I used it for 5 days, put Ubuntu 12.04 beta on it to dual boot with Windows 7 professional, everything run smoothly with good performance. The Utility software form Lenovo are very useful. Updating the drivers and Bios firmware fast and without glitch. The matte anti-glare screen is good for eyes. I love the machine. But today when I insert the SDHC card from camera into the media slot to view photos, it gets sprung out constantly. My try with other cards is of no avail. I call service at B&H Photo. After some quick and helpful questions, he issue me a RMA for refund. Although I lost the confidence on those non-expensive PCs since their quality control problems. But I still hold the same confidence on the decent people who run the B&H photos as I visited their store at lower Manhattan on Spring 1994. Definitely I will buy from B&H again and again.

Waited a while to get a great price on a Lenovo Thinkpad, and finally found it at B&H. The Thinkpad (as opposed to other Lenovo models) was recommended to me by two friends in I.T. as this model is more durable/rugged and reliable than most Lenovos. The speed is very good, the keyboard is fantastic, and overall we couldn't be happier with this laptop.

This is the 2nd E520 laptop I bought in 2 years, slightly different specs, one as a gift. I'm getting professional Thinkpad quality at a pricepoint that beats all competitors. Only complaint is that the layout of the navigation keys take getting use. What I like most is the industry best trackpoint IMHO. I use an expensive Dell professional laptop at my office; it's very heavy despite a smaller screen, and the trackpoint is extremely hard to use.
