I had been looking to replace a five-year-old Sony Vaio. I had recently gotten into a bit of gaming and I wanted a notebook that could handle some new games. I was also on a budget and wanted the best machine for the budget I barely had.
The first thing I did was research the video cards that gaming laptops usually had installed. I narrowed it down to the Radeon 6xxx series of graphics that I wanted and was able to find a few machines but were $500+ over my budget. (That amount would nearly double the cost I had promised to stay under.)
This Acer AS7750-6458 has the Radeon HD 6850M graphics card w/1gb memory. If any of you know some of the higher ended PC games, this laptop can handle Crysis 2, GTA IV, and Star Wars: The Old Republic all on high settings. I'd recommend this machine for those on a budget and want good gaming capabilities.
For some tech info:
The 17.3 screen is noticeable in size compared to the 15.6 for the Vaio. The notebook comes with 4gb or ram but upgrading to 8gb or 16gb is less than lunch or dinner for two at the mall. Definitely get more RAM. Very easy to install and shop around online for best prices.
Keyboard is a bit soft for my liking. It's safe to say pricing was cut by the keyboard, which is great for those who want to save some money. I think once I get used to the feel, I won't even notice the rubbery feel. I had used the Vaio to write a full length novel and a few full length movie scripts, so I was used to the feel of that keyboard. The num pad is a plus, and the touchpad can be turned off using Fn+F7 since I use a mouse.
Harddrive is more than enough for the productivity although I do have an external to hold bigger files.
Pre-installed items:
Card reader is usable. USB3.0 is a plus although a USB port on the back would be usefull. No Blu-Ray player but I don't have any discs to begin with.
Much of the Acer specific software is useless for what I would normally want so I un-installed most of it. There was a noticeable boost in performance once all the filler was removed.
Final notes: Upgrade all the drivers once the machine is set up to your liking. The video drivers especially. AMD is good as support for their video cards and there is an update at least once a month. Overall, I'm very happy with the Acer AS7750-6458 for it's performance/price. If you compare specs with similar machines WITH similar graphics cards, expect to spend $200-$300 more.

I bought this laptop because I wanted portability and the ability to play some PC games on it and it did not disappoint. It can run World of Warcraft at 60FPS on recommended setting and 40FPS on Ultra so I am very happy with it and would recommend it to any one.

It arrived fast but it seems DOA, I fixed problem with replacing CPU i5 2430M for i5 2520M. CPU from this Acer was working fine in different laptop, so I just swap them. My guess is that firmware was very old version 1.12 (8/2011) and CPU is as per Intel site was released Q4/11 so I guess someone forget to update bios in my laptop. After I made this change and upgraded bios it is working without any problems. It did not fill compleatly my expectations. As per some reviews 7750G may have 4 memory slots but this model has got only 2, 2nd bay for disk is almost not usable even with 2,5" 7mm disk I am not able to close cover compleatly. Radeon 6850M has only DDR3 not DDR5.There is still one miniPCI slot available, I need to try mSATA from my wife's laptop and if it is going to work than I will upgrade to final - 2,5" SSD for OS, 2,5" HDD for games and mSATA for temp/Aps.But in overall for [$] it is great value. Another similar laptos at BH are starting about 1200$. I am using it for playing games like WOW, SWTOR and few FPS. No problems with performance at all even if connected to FullHD LCD.

This computer was bought as a budget gaming laptop and desktop replacement. Important details were a dedicated graphics card, fast processor and cost. Spent hours comparing other sites and checked B&H for fun. I was surprised to find a decent selection of dedicated cards not offered by other sites. The 6850m was right where I wanted to be price-wise. Overall, the laptop is well made but obviously designed for the budget. It gets warm, but not overbearing thanks to great ventilation out the left-hand side. Placement of USB ports could be better, since they're on the right where I used a mouse and kept hitting the plug. A wireless mouse with small receiver solved the issue. Power plug is at a 90 degree angle which creates additional stress on the cord but so far hasn't come out. Speakers are ok, about what you would expect. Comes with a fair amount of bloatware that a fresh install cleaned up. Core I5 performance is exactly what you expect from Intel..fast. The display is clear and sharp. Overall, Acer did a great job cutting out some of the higher-end features without sacrificing performance.

Can you ran it?1 The site where you can see if your computer can run a game tells me I can run anything on this laptop. I'm amazed, starcraft II, Starwars:One Republic, Crysis, Need for Speed, everyhting on high graphics!I've tested some of those titles and runs with no problems. I'm amazed by the graphics. Its quiet and cold while I'm playing or using any other resource demanding application. The keyboard is not that comfortable, but its just the keyboard.I would buy this again, and recommend to a friend.1-The site:http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx

Overall I was very satisfied with my purchase. The laptop runs very smoothly and quickly. The computer is good for mid range gaming. The keyboard feels very nice and touch pad feels smooth.
*Acer's wireless adapter drivers are kinda faulty. It took me a long time to fix the problem. But I simply uninstalled the current wireless adapter driver and installed the Windows XP driver for it and it worked perfectly.
