The Dot Line DV112 On-Camera LED Light with Battery is a bright 5600K daylight light composed of 112 LEDs. With a professional Sony-style rechargeable battery, a charger, and a variety of included mounts, the light offers a full solution to powered on-camera lighting for camcorders or DSLR cameras that shoot video.
The DV112 produces clean, white 5600K daylight, and its rectangular shape guarantees proper coverage for widescreen video. The light is dimmable in four steps: full, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 power. The LED light mounts to any standard accessory shoe or, with the included mini-shoe mount, to Sony-style camcorder mini-shoes. For completely shoeless cameras, there's also a mounting bracket that attaches to the standard 1/4"-20 thread on the camera's bottom. Mounted on the bracket's shoe, the light rides alongside the camera.

Comments about Dot Line DV112 On-Camera LED Light with Battery:
I bought the Dot-Line DV112 with rechargeable lithium battery primarily for still and video of small antiques. Before using it, I measured some specs that the manufacturer did not provide.
1. The unit appears well designed. With the enclosed shoe-mount adapter, the unit can be mounted on top of the camera either horizontally or vertically. The LEDs are in an 8x14 array. The ON-OFF switch, and the reduced power switch, are easy and obvious to use.
2. The removable, rechargeable battery, NP-F550, slides into a slot on the back of the unit. The unit without battery weighs 138 grams, and the battery weighs 100 grams, so with the battery installed, the unit is heavy in the back and cannot stand on its own; it falls back. So it must be mounted either on the hot shoe or on the side of the camera, or on a separate tripod, using the enclosed mounting bracket.
3. My measurements on battery life: on full power, a fully charged battery provided 4 hours 12 minutes (252 minutes) of light, far greater than the 90 minutes advertised. I presume that the reduced power settings would give longer times but I have not measured them.
4. The fully depleted battery required 9-10 hours to fully recharge. For weddings or other extended shoots, an extra battery or two would be necessary.
5. I attempted to measure coverage area in this crude fashion: in a dark room with the unit 60 inches from the wall, the horizontal coverage was approx. 50 inches wide measured between the points at approx. 50% illumination--this is a very rough estimate--which is about 50 degrees of the circle. I am unable to measure the light intensity (lux)--maybe another reviewer, or the manufacturer, can supply that information.
6. The packaging claims a variable light output switch to permit full power, 75%, 50%, or 25% power. This unit has only three positions, not four, so the claim is not accurate. I have not attempted to measure which reduced power modes are actually present.
I have had good results with Dot-Line products in the past, and this unit was much less expensive than similar models from other manufacturers. For my purposes as an advanced amateur, it appears to be exactly what I was looking for.
