The 4-Port eSATA II PCI Express Card from LaCie is a stellar way to add four fast eSATA 3Gbps connections to your desktop Mac or Windows computers, especially if you intend on connecting high-speed external drives. This card features a total of four eSATA 3Gbps ports, which each allow data transfer rates of up to 3Gbps. The card allows you to connect a variety of eSATA devices to your computer, particularly external storage drives or arrays. This card fits a PCI Express (8x) card slot in your Windows or Mac desktop computer. If you need to transfer large amounts of data on and off your computer quickly, such as with video or audio files, this card just might serve you well!

- this card can be used to combine up to four hard disks together with your computer to create a versatile and powerful RAID solution. For example, using the LaCie 4big Quadra, you can set up each hard disk in a hardware RAID 5 mode, then combine them together into a software RAID 0 mode (with the help of the host computer)*, making this configuration comparable to a RAID 50 array.
