Comments about Nikon Super Wide Angle AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens:
First lens I ever bought for my first DSLR I got less than a month ago (D7000, body only). I didn't want zoom or anything bulky and I am outside a lot, this so far is perfect for mobility and getting that wide picture (even on a DX).
Made in Japan, not a fantastic plus to mention, but its nice to know it was. Not as "tight" as I thought it would be, but the only other lens I can really compare it to are my dads old AI prime lenses (which work GREAT on the D7000 BTW)
AF with my D7000 is OK so far, anytime pictures come out soft, I am pretty sure it is user error as I have taken many sharp photos with this lens.
For the reviewer that could not get this to AF on their D7000, you probably turned the lens on too far (happen to me), turn it back some and let it click into place so the lens release button clicks out. This will allow the AF motor to pop out of the body and into the lens so it will auto-focus

Comments about Nikon Super Wide Angle AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens:
This lens is lightweight and easy to handle. With the FX format matched with the D7000 my image clarity is improved dramatically over the Telephoto DX. I've been away from photography for 20 years and the digital format has pulled me back. I mostly use the lens for landscapes but interior photos are a snap with existing light.

Comments about Nikon Super Wide Angle AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens:
Absolutely no distortion. All glass lens elements. Verticals and horizontals are straight. Throw away your zoom and buy this. You won't regret it.

Good optics, clear and sharp from edge to edge, with good colour saturation and tonal accuracy. Nice soft bokeh when shot wide open.
