Western Digital 2TB My Passport Studio Portable Hard Drive for Mac
The Western Digital 2TB My Passport Studio Portable Hard Drive for Mac is a highly-portable, high-capacity hard drive designed to accompany you and your Mac when you travel. Outfitted with an anodized aluminum enclosure, this drive matches the aesthetic of your MacBook or MacBook Air and provides you with up to 2TB storage. It features two FireWire 800 ports for fast data transfers and one USB 2.0 port for added connectivity. All of these ports also supply the drive with power so you don't need to lug around a power supply.
In addition to these features, the drive can backup your data in Apple Time Machine and can be reformatted to work with Windows computers. The preloaded WD Drive Utilities and WD Security software are an added bonus for managing your drive and protecting its data.

I use this drive to hold my movie collection. I have over 800 movies, roughly 1.3 TB. This drive is fast- the firewire 800 is fast enough to keep my movies from skipping or buffering while I watch. I also wanted to keep my Time Machine (apple backup tool) on a separate drive. I was hoping for a Thunderbolt connection on this drive, but that is still on a small amount of devices since it's so new. This drive is small and fits in the pocket on my Macbook Pro case, which is great. Not having a power adapter and running solely off the firewire is a major benefit. Love it!
