Comments about BenQ W1060 DLP Projector:
It took me a long time to finally choose which projector I wanted. After reading many reviews, asked tons of questions in various forums I finally made up my mind and decided to go with the Benq W1060.
I wanted a projector for my living room. Since I live in a quite small apartment it needed a good short-throw. This one did great. At a distance of about 10" from the screen I was able to get a 120" image.
I was amazed by the quality of the picture. It's bright even when I have some light on. Contrast is not perfect when there is light in the room but it still did a good job. Depending on what you are doing with it you might not notice it.
I haven't used it for too long. One thing that I did notice is that there is now lens shift (and I knew it wouldn't have). I didn't think this would be a big deal but being used to a projector that has this feature it kind of bothered me. But if you buy a good mount you can fix this so it's ok.
The other thing is zoom and focus. They have to be fixed manually but I guess once you have everything set up you won't have to worry too much about it.
You really need speakers because the ones with the projector are not good at all.
Other than that the projector looks great and works great for what my wife and I wanted. I know this isn't the best projector ever but for the price it was a 5 star product.
Pros: the product itself looks good, excellent image, good throw, 2 HDMI inputs, the remote lights up so it's easy to see the buttons in the dark
Cons: no lens shift, kind of cheap remote (it feels cheap but it works just fine), contrast isn't awesome (it's better if you keep the room as dark as possible)
