I've seen reviews for other screen protectors that weren't so good, so when I saw the 3M protectors I figured they'd be high quality. Turns out they were difficult to apply without bubbling. I followed the directions exactly as indicated, and I even knew to wash my hands to remove the smallest traces of oil (a step that doesn't appear in the instructions). The end result made it look as if I was looking through filmy eyeglasses. Not what I expected from 3M. I always give positive reviews, but in my opinion this product unfortunately doesn't deserve one. Sorry...

I hate to say it, but this product is completely worthless. I've applied screen protectors before and I know they can be tricky. I applied this one very carefully, according to 3M's directions. In fact, I even knew to wash my hands and dry them really well right before applying so the skin oils wouldn't get on the protector, even though this important step wasn't included in the 3M instructions. I cleaned the Kindle Fire screen exactly according to Kindle's directions, using a microfiber cloth. But when I tried to apply the screen protector, it bubbled, and even though the protector looked clean before application, there must have been a static charge that attracted lint or dust as the film was being pulled back, and this was trapped in the adhesive under the protector. I tried smoothing the protector with the supplied cardboard applicator, but this only made things worse. Once applied, the protector made the screen look like I was reading through dirty, scratched glasses, which was totally unacceptable. I had also purchased a second one for my wife's Kindle Fire, but I'm returning that unopened. I really bought this because I had seen terrible reviews of other brands on other sites, and I figured 3M would be a better quality. Given the results, I should have tried my luck with a generic brand. I have never written a negative review for any product and I never expected to be writing this review, but this product was truly worthy of complaint.
