Comments about Sony Dash Information Alarm Clock (Black):
I beleive SONY originally called the DASH a"personal internet viewer" . . . it's no such thing. I see now, however, they are calling it an "information alarm clock", and that is exactly what it is.
I saw this at a friend's house. They were using it as an alarm clock only. As a clock, it's very cool. As for "viewing" the internet, forget it. It doesn't have a useful browser to speak of and the "apps" (which are web widgets of a sort) are slow to load and device specific.
That said, it's the coolest clock I've ever had. You can set any number of various alarms, different times for different days, set times for groups of days and s different time for others, etc., which is seriously cool.
It looks awesome. I have it displaying two time zones and weather for both those zones. If I want to view one of the "apps" I have it set for one of the major news feeds. (I rarely look at that though, I'm really only interested in the time and weather).
There is a night mode (which changes the display to show time and dims the screen so as not to be too bright to distract from sleep. The touch interface is fairly responsive, the screen is satin.
The "Yes, I would recommend this to a friend" comes with some reservations. If you're looking for a nice clock with some neat features, this it it. If you're looking for more, look elsewhere.
